Attack on Titan 2025: Is There a Chance for a New Season?
Anime!

A hard-core fan of Attack on Titan, I know just how the series shaped the anime world. With all those heart-pounding actions, complex characters, and a plot full of unpredictable twists, it has got to be one of the most iconic anime of all time. But with the final season wrapping up in 2023, the question everybody is asking themselves would be: will there be a new season in 2025? Let's dive into what we know, what could happen, and whether there's any hope for another season.
The End of the Story: What We Know So Far
First things first, we need to address where we left off. Attack on Titan Season 4, Part 3 wrapped up the colossal story that fans had been following for over a decade. The final episodes had been a rollercoaster of emotions, tying up the long-running plotlines of Eren Yeager, the Survey Corps, and the fate of humanity. It seemed rather conclusive, and many seemed to think that this was it-no more seasons, no more episodes, just an epic, heart-stopping finale.
But here's the thing: Attack on Titan has always been full of surprises. Shocking revelations and cliffhangers kept us on our toes in the past. While the manga might have wrapped up the story, the anime's adaptation could always pull a few unexpected moves.
Why Fans Are Hopeful for More
Despite the final season's conclusion, there are a few reasons fans are still holding out hope for another season in 2025.
Spin-offs and Side Stories: Attack on Titan has a rich world full of lore, with plenty of untold stories. While the anime wrapped up the main narrative, there are spin-off manga, side stories, and additional content that could easily be adapted into a new season. Whether it's diving deeper into the backstory of the Marleyans or exploring the origins of the Titans themselves, there's a lot of material to work with. A season dedicated to exploring these untold stories wouldn't just be fan service-it could add more layers to the universe.
The Final Season Split: Let's not forget how the final season was divided into parts. The first part came in 2020, and then it kept splitting into even more segments. A huge tell of that being there was simply way too much story to contain in just one final season. Does this structure signal more is in store? That's definitely possible. With so many chapters left untouched, it is possible that Attack on Titan would go the route of extended epilogues or spin-off episodes to tie up any loose ends.
Success and Popularity: Success cannot even begin to describe the overall impact of Attack on Titan. The series remains one of the most popular and talked-about anime worldwide. The reason the momentum keeps going doesn't stop with the fanbase alone; it comes from critical reviews, merchandise, and ongoing debates over its contribution to anime culture. It is therefore no surprise, given the show's incredible popularity, that creators will try a new season or movie project. If they see that demand is high, then it is not out of the question to have more created.
What Could Happen in 2025?
So, will a new season of Attack on Titan be released in 2025? Here's my take:
A New Story Arc or Adaptation: If we are so lucky, the anime may adopt several of the side stories mentioned within the manga but never explored in detail in the series. Perhaps it will relate to what happened in No Regrets, Lost Girls, and the story about the Warriors of Marleya. With these adaptations, the original content will continue to make sense while sticking within this universe.
A Movie?: Let's not forget the possibility of a movie. Anime films based on successful series are nothing new, and with such a big following for the Attack on Titan series, a new movie could well be the means of taking it into further extensions of the series. Whether that means an alternate ending, a "what if" scenario, or a dive deeper into the history behind the Titans themselves, this movie would have been done fittingly to keep such a story alive in 2025.
The End Is Truly Here: On the flip side, it’s also very possible that the Attack on Titan anime has run its course. The creators have always been clear about their vision for the series, and with the manga’s conclusion in 2021 and the anime wrapping up shortly after, they may feel that there’s no need to add anything more. It means that 2025 might be the date when Attack on Titan says goodbye to its fans.
