Another Three Must-Read Webcomics.

Give Them A Try!

By Anecia LewisPublished 8 years ago 3 min read

The three webcomics I'll be discussing today are personal favorites and those are Girls Of The Wild's, Green Boy and Tamen De Gushi. Webcomics are very popular in China, South Korea, Japan and soon enough, perhaps the rest of the world. From their amazing art style to the vibrant color schemes, what's not to love about webcomics?

Girls Of The Wild's is a combination of action, school life, and romance. From Zhena/Hun, we are thrown into a war-like world which is primarily centered around the main protagonist Song Jae Gu and Queen (Yoon In Gyi) who rules the prestigious Wild's High School. The comic showcases themes such as bullying, overcoming adversity, and so on. Song Jae Gu is forced to grow up fast in order to take care of his younger siblings, for his father has died and his mother left the picture and their family behind. He is deemed as both a misogynist and a gynophobic, meaning that he both hates and fears women. As the first and currently only male to enter the prestigious Wild's High School, Jae Gu is forced to overcome his fears in order to survive, especially when Queen seems intent on giving him a good beating! He is befriended by Moonyoung Lee, Queen's best friend and the boxing club captain, and Daldal Choi, a cute and petite Taekwondo club captain. Although he refuses to follow any of Queen's demeaning tasks, he apologizes for his behavior, and Queen begins to develop romantic feelings for him. Queen selects Jae Gu to be her opponent in the upcoming tournament, but a conflict between Jae Gu and Queen's rival, Hyeshin Kim, from Gura High, results in Jae Gu being placed in the preliminary rounds. When Jae Gu is bullied by a former middle school classmate, Hangyeol Kim, the girls help train Jae Gu to fight and their schools arrange for them to face each other. Jae Gu overcomes his fears and knocks out Hangyeol. Since then on, Moonyoung, Daldal, Queen, and Jae Gu become good friends. Will he be able to rise up from the ashes? To find out, please read the webcomic Girls Of The Wild's!

Next up we have Green Boy, another hard-hitting webcomic that deals with bullying, love and most of all, boxing! In this comic, it centers around Jane (Jae-In) who is an irrepressible girl and aims to be a champion in the boxing world, and Tae-Jin is an innocent boy who loves her. Tae-Jin's crush on Jane caused him to not only join the same boxing club as her, but it also caused him to end up down a road of hardship as well. When Jane decides to use him as a buffer between him and an upperclassmen, several rumors spread throughout the school about them. It results in Tae-Jin and his friends being bullied, as well as an unsightly video being spread. With this, Tae-Jin steals his resolves and takes his boxing lessons seriously with the help of pro boxer Yunsoo to back him up. Want to know more of what's to come of our heroes? Well, read Green Boy!

Finally, we have Tamen De Gushi which is a hilarious but romantic story of how two females, Qiu Tong and Sun Jing, fell in love. The author Tan Jiu paints an innocent picture for the reader as we're tossed into the lives of both characters. Aside from the comedic aspects, the journey of love itself between Qiu Tong and Sun Jing makes the webcomic a real page turn. It's an ongoing webcomic with 98 chapters and counting. If you guys really want a laugh, then give Tamen De Gushi a chance!

I am an avid fanatic when it comes to sci-fi, anime, and novels. I love DC and Marvel comics, but if I had to choose a hero to save my ass--it would definitely be Batman.
