Anime sins : Jujutsu Kaisen ep: 1 (spoiler alert)
Anime Physics

Aah anime, the only other system in the world able to spoon feed people lies without even trying.
There’s politics too but that’s for another time.
Now I’m not an anime hater trust me. I have watched many anime over the course of my life and it’s only recently in fact that I have started to question the actual ideas and theories behind the things I’m looking at.
That may not seem like a problem but as someone who at a younger age genuinely believed he could do some of these things through watching anime back and following steps like a YouTube tutorial.
It is kind of a big deal.
And for such reasons what better way to express my concerns and annoyances than through an online article, a place where no in real life harm can come to me no matter the content *thumbs up*.

The anime starts off with a classic “now you may be wondering... summer of 86” scene where the opening scene is the main character in a bad way and the scenes following are the events leading up to this point.

Now I’m not one to not give credit where credit is due, unfortunately this article will not just be me defecating all over this anime.
The theme song as well as slapping harder than a disrespected mother has some of the best foreshadowing techniques and visuals I have ever seen in an anime to date.
Usually an anime will add the minimum amount of detail in an opening and then increment it over time in order to hide spoilers.
With this particular opening the layout and pace of the opening makes it near impossible to tell whether the events have anything to do with the actual characters I.e. the mouth popping out of the main characters cheek.
After the flooding of the bus and the unusual introduction I was convinced this was about to be another “I woke up in another world anime” that one mouth threw a whole spanner in the works and I no longer knew what to expect. So for that I say kudos.

Don’t get me wrong I love my family members to bits, but for some reason I always chose to envy anime character relatives for the oddest of reasons.
The characteristics would be nothing that signifies signs of a good relative. Constant yelling at the main character, immature banter and general lack of compassion or concern for their wellbeing despite the fact that they excel in looks ability and most other things.
I think the thing that most attracted me to this concept was the main characters undisciplined ability to fight and talk back even physically sometimes.
In hindsight I’m glad I never took these scenarios too seriously or I’d probably be out on the street right now.

Number one way to lose respect from an audience( or at least me).
In this scene we are introduced to our first side character a tall dark featured male who seems to hardly ever smile. That’s fine and all. All characters being smiley and aloof doesn’t really make a good action anime. To every Goku there should be a Piccolo/Vegeta. I agree with that.
The trouble here is how am I supposed to believe this character is a bad ass if he threatens to punch his superior twice on and off the phone for their instructions, and then continues to follow said instructions after being hung up on and told what to do.
Worst of all he didn’t even punch him.

This scene is hilarious and more schools should have scenes like this exact scenario in anime and in real life. Thank you for reading my article.

Main character has a weird reason for doing something you stereotypically don’t expect someone like them to do. Love that.

We are now introduced to the first few shonen traits of the main character being his superhuman strength and speed. This is important for later so thought I’d mention it.

Either it was obvious this old man was going to die after giving words of wisdom to his grandson on a hospital bed thereby nullifying any reason for him to still be in the anime. Or I need to start writing damn anime scripts.

I have a feeling this is going to come back later but now it’s a big old Schrödinger's box.
Scenario A: These two characters don’t have cursed energy and it was entirely by luck, Chance or some secret omniscient -Tobi-Obito-Madara character stringing everything along that they were able to take off a talisman.
Scenario B: One of the two written off starting characters secretly has cursed energy unbeknownst to them, or knowsnt to them. In which case this was orchestrated by them and the writers have an excuse to bring them back later with a twist as an ally or enemy either way >->.

Of course this isn’t going to be a reoccurring thing.
If you ask me any character that doesn’t pep talk themselves before going into a reckless scenario with painful memories of a recent traumatic event is either an extremely plot armoured Saiyan/Kryptonian from another planet.
Or was created by Walt Disney.
There’s no in between.

Yo if a game ever comes out for this anime the dark haired dude better have a 1 for his speed stat.
How on earth was he “not able to make it in time” when a randomer who was outside the building and behind a gate moments earlier was able to locate his exact location, jump beside the window, break the damn window and damage the enemy before they were able to complete their task lmao.
To be fair anime times seem to differentiate greatly to seemingly real time, and the dude does seem to have some sort of Shikamaru shadow dependant vibe going. But besides that, how far up were they? This is what I meant in the previous image, not only was the main character able to jump vertically into the air to this insane height, he somehow was also able to propel himself against something with enough force to dynamic entry kick through a window and suspend just above the monsters head.
Guinness? Talent agencies? FBI? Where you at!

If you didn’t see him eating this a mile away you just honestly need to watch more anime.

Either 1 speed, 1 reaction or 1 decision making skill.
My point still stands.

Me after stubbing my toe against a toy Lego “Ambulance!”. Anime character after being hit through several literal plates of concrete “tch...”.
Anime’s need to stop acting like concrete is freaking confetti.

Nah he is literally just flying now.

Hopefully writers expect viewers to predict it at this point. You don’t need to sell anymore shut up and take my money.

He ate the finger in case you didn’t think he would.

Words you say when you don’t realise you’re in an anime.

“Aah now the mouth makes sense”-(me at 4am watching anime instead of completing my 7 drafts of university work 2000-now).

Ending on a high note can I just say the end theme slaps just as hard as the beginning. Nothing but love for this anime despite the criticism and looking forward to more episodes. Moral of the story anime is based on real life not the other way round as I previously thought. Stay safe and thanks for reading feel free to comment and criticise this as it has commented and criticised. 😂🥰😋
