Anime I Have Rewatched

Anime I Have Rewatched

By animetipzPublished about a year ago 7 min read

Welcome to day 11! I did a 30-day anime challenge last year and had a blast with it. It would be fun to do it again this year. Let’s see if my tastes have changed at all in a year.

Here is day 10 in case you missed it.

The purpose of these challenges is to post a picture, but I, being the extra person I am, will write a blog about each topic.

This differs from what I am used to blogging, which excites me to test my creativity and go back to find the answers to these writing prompts.

Feel free to join me in the comments below! I’d love to hear your answers too!!

Day 11 Anime I’ve rewatched more than once

I‘m not one to rewatch shows. I watch it once, say “That was a great show” and then move on to the next. There has only been a small handful that I have rewatched and an even smaller list that I have rewatched multiple times.

Not adding anime movies to this list because I have rewatched all the Studio Ghibli movies more than I can count, As well as movies like A Silent Voice and Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop.

I am going to talk about why I wanted to rewatch the anime below. Just know I recommend watching every single one I am about to list.

Let’s start with anime I have only rewatched once and then get into the anime I have rewatched multiple times.

Soul Eater

I wrote about Soul Eater on day 1 of this challenge. Soul Eater was one of my first anime and the reason I got back into anime. I was looking for something to watch on Netflix. Soul Eater popped up in my recommended shows because it was getting taken off Netflix in less than 30 days. Of course, I had to rewatch it! This show was one my sister and I can still talk about for hours and I wanted to see if all these years later it still held its own. It did!! What a creative and entertaining show! I already know I am going to binge it again once the third season of Fire Force comes out.

My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari)

This is one of my favorite romance anime. I watched it subbed as it came out weekly and adored it. When I started watching anime again in 2022 this was one of the first ones I knew I had to rewatch. This time I watched it dubbed and binged through the whole show. It is the definition of wholesome and I will be rewatching it again.

The Ways Of The Househusband

This show will always be one of my favorites. It instantly puts me in a good mood. It is hysterical! Perfectly timed comedy with amazing writing. Everyone wants a second chance at life and in this case, Tatsu got a fresh start. That doesn’t mean his old life doesn’t bleed into his new life. Maybe you didn’t leave a gang but we can all relate to trying to start over but falling back into old habits and running into old relationships, causing us to remember all the cringy things we used to do. I will put this show on when I need a good laugh.

Horimiya & Horimiya Missing Pieces

I loved this show when I first watched it. I loved it so much that I got the manga. One night I couldn’t sleep so I read through the first few volumes which made me want to watch the anime again. I binged through the whole show that night and then the additional show the next day. I am a sucker for slice-of-life comedy but this one completely changed the game. The art was simple but there were so many unique characters and the story was very light-hearted and fun! My favorite part was they nailed the don’t judge a book by its cover, you saw each character develop into their unique personalities and overcome their stereotypes. If you need a good laugh I’d recommend watching this asap!!

Spy X Family

When I found out Spy X Family was getting a movie I decided I needed to watch through the show again. I think this anime will go down as a classic that everyone needs to watch. It is extremely entertaining and creative. Yes, the story is a little ridiculous which is what makes this show amazing!! The characters are unique and fun. The storyline is serious and hilarious. Epic fight scenes mixed into the humor of a beginning family. I could not recommend this show enough for both seasoned and beginning anime watchers.

Solo Leveling

I waited patiently for season one to completely come out before I started watching. I binged through Solo Leveling in one night and couldn’t believe how incredible it was. I normally avoid anime that is overly hyped because they turn out to never live up to expectations. However, Solo Leveling blew my expectations out of the water. The next morning I made my dad watch it with me. I love the character development and how this show sucks you into the story. I might end up rewatching before I watch season 2.

The Future Diary (Mirai Nikki)

This might be one of the craziest stories ever written. It also deserved a spot in my favorite horror anime. I was completely hooked on episode 1. High levels of thrill and plot twists will make your head spin. It is very gory and has some very graphic and disturbing content so don’t say I didn’t warn you. But if you need a thrilling, heart-racing, mind-exploding anime this is for you. You have to watch the OVA episode right after you finish or you will be left with a sour taste in your mouth. I watched this show a while ago and recently rewatched it and can confirm I didn’t see what was coming even though I had already seen it. Let me know if your jaw was on the floor the last 5 episodes.

Death Note

Death Note was one of the best anime of my time. I remember binging it and my little teen brain being exploded by the peek fiction I was seeing. I have rewatched Death Note and read the manga and it never gets old. I still talk about Light’s motives, if he was the villain, and what someone would do if they had the power of the death note. This anime is almost 20 years old and still being as popular as it is shows how amazing the story truly is.

Anime I have rewatched multiple times

School Rumble

This might be one of the best shows ever written. Between the quirky characters and relatable situations. There is no downside to this anime. I have rewatched this show multiple times and still can’t get enough. There is a character for everyone to relate to and even episodes without any of the main characters. If you enjoy a slice-of-life comedy with random dramatic stories this show is for you.

Ouran Highschool Host Club

I have rewatched Ouran High School Host Club countless times. I still laugh so hard on episode one. I don’t think the host club would get away with a lot of jokes they made if it came out in today’s world, but their comedy is hysterical. The whole show is great and I think this would be a show that I could watch forever and never get tired of.

Durarara!!

I found this anime right after it came out and it should be one of the most popular anime of all time in my opinion. I don’t remember how I came across it but I am forever grateful that I did. I do have a lot of anime that I love but Durarara is hands down my favorite, which means I have rewatched it multiple times. This is an anime with so many twists in it your head will be blown. It did gain a little popularity a few years after season one but not close to what it deserves. Every season got better and better, yet I see nothing about it on social media or really anywhere. If you haven’t seen Durarara put it at the top of your to-watch list.

Fullmetal Alchemist And Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

This is the anime I have rewatched the most. I couldn’t even count how many times I watched Fullmetal Alchemist. I love the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise. I started by watching Fullmetal Alchemist and then read the manga and then watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Since then I have watched both Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood right after. I didn’t understand why people hated the first version so much, but I only heard Brotherhood was way better because it followed the manga so I had to watch it. I think people hated the first version because it didn’t follow the manga, that is because it was being released while the manga was still releasing chapters. I thought it showed a lot of creativity from the writers of the anime to figure out how the manga would have ended. Brotherhood was still very good in my opinion but I enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist more. Personally, I think you should still watch both and make that decision for yourself, with either one your mind will be blown. I do plan on writing a comparison between the two and the manga soon so be on the lookout for that. As I write this I want to rewatch both again.

Which did you prefer? Fullmetal Alchemist or Brotherhood?

I can’t believe that is the whole list. Out of the hundreds of anime I have watched over the years, only 12 were good enough to rewatch. I have watched some recent anime that I believe I will rewatch in a few years, but we shall see.

What are some anime you have rewatched? Do you enjoy rewatching shows to finding new ones?

Thanks for reading!!
