Angry Young Men Review: I LOVE Nostalgia!

Friends, it is said that change is the rule of the world and in the same way in Bollywood too, you get to see many changes in every decade, but friends, there is one director duo who has completely changed Bollywood and that director duo was Salim Khan or Javed Akhtar, Amazon Prime has made a documentary series named Angry Young Men. I have completed watching it and what is my take on it, let's find out.

How did Salim Khan or Javed Akhtar come together, how did they meet, what abilities did he have, how did he enter Bollywood, what did he do before writing, how did he get his first break, how did he establish all the things? And how he made blockbuster films one after the other, you can see it in the show which has three episodes whose lengths are 45 minutes each.

Now, if I want to review the show Angry Young Men for you in one word, I would just say that it is interesting, watch it, if you are fond of old movies, if you like Zanjeer, Sholay, Deewar, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar these kind of movies very much and if you are interested to know more about them, then definitely this show is for you.

But if you are not a member of that old generation, if you do not know anything about films like Sholay, Deewar, and Zanjeer and you are not particularly interested in knowing, then skip this show.

I was born in 2002, and I used to sit with my grandfather and watch a lot of old movies. I remember asking him the names of the films, like "What is this picture called?" or "What is that picture called?" He would happily tell me the names. Watching this show has brought back all those old memories with my grandfather, and those memories have made me a bit emotional because my grandfather is no longer in this world. He left me in 2017. I miss him a lot now. I used to either watch movies with him or help him with his work.

There was also a shop near my house where I used to buy Goli Soda for 5 rupees—a bottle with a small marble-like ball inside. It was so much fun to drink it! It came in two flavours: lemon water and a red flavour. After coming home from school, I would buy one and drink it with my grandfather, enjoying every moment.

Now, that Goli Soda bottle costs 20 rupees, and it's not easily available anywhere. Even if you do find it, they don't give you the bottle; instead, they serve the contents in a glass. But there's something special about drinking it straight from the bottle—it’s a next-level experience!

You will also agree with this that the old Bollywood movies used to be so wonderful, funny, nature-related and fully convincing and earlier the writers did not get any respect or attention, even their names were not mentioned in the films. It meant that they were not given credit, now a lot of things have changed, writers have started getting credit these days, but they still don't receive the respect they truly deserve.

Salim Khan or Javed Akhter is the first writer duo whose name appeared on the poster, whose stories and whose movies the audience used to come to the cinema house to watch, no matter who the actor is in the picture if the name is associated with Salim or Javed. People used to go to the cinema halls to buy tickets to watch movies.

Even in black, so many tickets were sold that many of the black ticket holders bought cars and built houses, and this has been revealed in this show.

The focus was not only on the works of Salim or Javed, but the show also takes us on his personal life. There are some emotional moments in the second episode where we will get to know about her families.

You will get to see many big actors in this show. Now that Salim Khan is there, you will get to see his son Salman Khan. You will also get to see Mr perfectionist Aamir Khan. Apart from this, many other actors, directors, distributors or media persons completely recreate their personal experiences and their old memories, but I believe that this show should have gone a little more in-depth, although everything is fine, I believe so.

Conclusion

Overall the show Angry Young Men I liked very much. There is also a rap song in this show so if you also have the desire to know about old movies or say Saleem Javed then go and watch this show, you will not be disappointed anywhere.

There is no need for parental guidance, this show is completely neat and clean.
