What To Watch - When To Watch It - Where To Stream

Bringing to you 5 nights of just pure nostalgia. I had originally written this as a full 31 nights of Halloween early 2000's nostalgia + a few specific to me; but we should be living it now - not watching an entire month of television or cinema at least for me.

Alas the 5 nights of nostalgic all hallows eve was birthed. A perfect line up to watch leading up to just right before tricks or treats. I have to add it's extremely bias nostalgia of all hallowed queens, laughing screams, and warm cozy childhood dreams.

I am talking thick plastic (forgive us) pumpkin buckets in shades of carrot and plum. Living on vibes and naivety. So precious and pure before societal norms begin to bleach our gifts' - also before we realized how we were poisoning our world but see my article 'Earth Go Hard' for that soapbox.

Land lines, those haunting plastic almost trash bag material door decorations. They had thrilling scenes in bright alluring shades - taped to windows and your teachers doors. Sticky bats and grave yard depictions of create your own scenes on your window panes - while simultaneously collecting all of the debris in ones' household.*When I was a kid we had these vintage 80's Halloween stickers for the windows my great grandma had gifted us kids. They weren't the kind that collected debris, they had the clear background that made them appear translucent. Each of us having a scene to display of course our kid sister did appear to adore them just as my great grandmother had intended. Which was year round. Then we moved, my parents forgot them and it was a conniption fit until she was about six. Each time we'd go home for the holidays or ask to drive by the old house the objective was to see if the stickers in our kid sisters princess bathroom had been taken down yet. And wouldn't you know almost two decades later - the fuckers are still up. Sun bleached and I'm sure adhered to the glass but still up.*

The Halloween 'Lisa Frank' era, neon electrifying green, candy apple suckers but when they left your mouth bloody and scratched for days. That specific aesthetic of late 90s' and the year 2000 in its' entirety. When Pillsbury sugar cookies were in that tube you'd beg your mom for. Which you would do again that evening when you begged her to slice it, press the timer, and wait for the ding. All the while just wanting to slice another piece of raw sugar cookie dough with gooey orange food coloring in the center in the shape of a jack-o-lantern. Mhm! Those few years where everything was just a little extra on its' own.
