As the nights lengthen and the veil thins, we happy freaks and geeks celebrate Spooky Season. Of course we do the usual things- pick out a costume(s), decorate our homes, gorge on candy and whatever else . . . but I think, in this age of social media, there's another way to further enmesh yourself in the holiday spirit! Sink even deeper, and really make Halloween your personality, by making it all you see 24/7. I'm talking about following pages dedicated to the strange and unusual! And, by the Moon, do I have some great pages for you:

1. gothic fiction bot (@gothficbot)

These quotes come from gothic fiction, new and old, and carry such emotion in them all- some strong and wrathful, others sumptiously detailed, and quite a few just raw in the way licking a still beating heart must be. I've picked up a couple books (such as Nothing But Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Khaw) because of this bot and its predilection for picking wicked, fantastic quotes.

2. horrorgraphs (@horrormoon6)

A fantastic little page that posts a lot of photos, BTS photos, and GIFs of horror movies. Warning though, this page does feature gore! If you're not comfortable with that, avoid it. Otherwise, lots of great content.

3. No Context Horror (@nocontxthorror)

Whatever movies/shows I'm not getting from the above page, are gonna be found here. Plus this page gives you quotes from content, which can be a fun reminder of a scene you love- or a reason to get interested in something you haven't seen yet. I also find this page is a little more interactive, in a sense, than the former?

4. Aesthetic Horror (@AestheticHorror)

As the title implies, this page is all about giving props to the art that horror can be. The colors used, the design chose, the costumes, effects- everything art! This page also just posts photos or GIFs, but ones that highlight a really great shot concerning its use of colors, shadows, etc. I'll warn you, though, it's not one that posts very often.

5. Iren Horrors (@Iren_Horrors)

An incredible artist whose works are all a little creepy, a little dark, and very beautifully done! Most of their works feature a central figure, a woman, thrilled with the creatures and the horrors of the night. I also talked about them in a previous article about other twitter artists here.

6. Marley (@GlamGothBeauty)

Thee reigning dark monarch in makeup right now, coiffed and adorned in the strange and unusual shrouds of the netherworld, working 24/7 for the goth babes! I've bought a palette and numerous eye glitters from her, and I will do so AGAIN. You can also follow her on Youtube- she's done some makeup tutorials, but recently she's been giving longer form content in the form of vlogs about her life and business.

7. Dark (@triiiplice)

A more recent follow, but one just as fun as all these others- purely a page dedicated to all things witches and horror. Spent the summer dreaming of Halloween and now that it's here, I fear this page is about to go off? A great page for vibes, honestly.

8. Doth (@DothTheDoth)

Just gothic, smidge depressing, and precisely my cup of tea. Not too many pictures in comparison to the other pages, just regular posts of dark thoughts. But in a dark, sexy way!

I hope I've given you all some new content to freshen up that Twitter timeline of yours! Do you have any twitter pages you follow that I haven't shared here, that you would recommend? Happy Halloween to all you folks, and remember to support local artists and writers who are doling out sinister tales and beautiful, wretched things just like these folks. If you liked the article, share it around (and if you've got the means to do so, perhaps offer a tip)!
