Ubisoft has rolled out the latest patch for XDefiant, marking the release of Season 1.4. This update brings a variety of changes aimed at improving gameplay, addressing bugs, and fine-tuning weapons. The patch touches on multiple areas, including gameplay mechanics, factions, maps, game modes, weapons, devices, netcode, audio, and miscellaneous fixes.
Gameplay Improvements:
One of the notable gameplay updates is that kill assists now contribute to a player’s ultra charge, which enhances the overall team play experience. Additionally, a bug that caused players to be sent back to the main menu after finishing a Ranked match has been resolved. The EMP grenade Base Challenge, which previously wasn't tracking progress, is now functioning correctly.
- Kill assists weren't contributing to a player's ultra charge, but now they are.
- Fixed an issue that would send players all the way back to the main menu after finishing a Ranked match.
- If you couldn't complete the EMP grenade Base Challenge because it wasn't tracking your progress, try it now. You should be good.
Factions Adjustments:
In faction-related changes, the Cleaners' Incinerator Drone no longer explodes when flying over an ally GS-Kommando’s Shock Wire, ensuring better synergy among teammates.
- The Cleaners' Incinerator Drone no longer blows up when it flies over an ally GS-Kommando's Shock Wire.
Map Fixes:
A significant glitch on the National Zoo map that made players invincible at their initial spawn point on the second floor has been fixed, restoring balance to this map's gameplay.
- Fixed a glitch in which players were impervious to damage at their initial spawn point on the second floor of the National Zoo map.
Game Modes Update:
In Zone Control, a bug that abruptly unlocked all zones and allowed the attacking team to win without proper effort has been addressed, ensuring fairer and more competitive matches.
- Fixed a weird Zone Control bug that was unlocking all the zones abruptly and letting the attacking team score a win without putting in the time or effort.
Weapon Tuning:
Weapon tuning, particularly for snipers, has seen further refinement. The hit-flinch penalty for snipers has been increased, making it harder for them to maintain accuracy while under fire. Additionally, the spread reduction duration for several sniper rifles (M44, TAC-50, L115) has been increased, preventing players from being sniped before the sniper is fully scoped in. Other tweaks include reduced aiming sensitivity while using a scope and fixes for visual glitches with weapon attachments when using specific skins.
1.Additional tuning of the sniper hit-flinch penalty (i.e., the shaky aim incurred when being shot while aiming a sniper rifle). Now, hit flinch is more noticeable, making it harder for snipers to hit their target while under fire.
2.In other sniper-tuning news, spread reduction duration has been increased. This refers to how long it takes a sniper to focus the scope and achieve pinpoint accuracy when going into ADS, which should prevent targeted players from getting sniped before the sniper is fully scoped in. Study these spec changes:
- M44 spread reduction duration increased by 4 percent.
- TAC-50 spread reduction duration increased by 28 percent.
- L115 spread reduction duration increased by 16 percent.
Reduced aiming sensitivity while aiming with a scope to compensate for the field-of-view change.
3.The PEQ-15 laser sight no longer hovers magically alongside the AA-12 shotgun when players wear the Skullduggery skin.
4.Fixed a graphical glitch that was making muzzle, magazine, and weapon stock attachments turn invisible while wearing the Mecha skin.
Devices and Exploits:
An exploit allowing players to deploy unlimited devices by changing loadouts in spawn zones has been fixed, ensuring fair play across the board.
- Fixed an exploit that let players deploy unlimited devices by changing loadouts in spawn zones.
Netcode and Audio Adjustments:
Players should no longer get stuck by enemy sticky grenades after dodging their trajectory. Also, explosion sound effects that previously cut off when deploying multiple grenades have been corrected, and the sound of approaching Spiderbots has been made easier to hear, giving players a better chance to defend themselves.
- Players were getting stuck by enemy sticky grenades even if they dodged the grenade's trajectory. Not anymore.
- Explosion sound effects no longer cut off when players deploy multiple grenades in rapid succession.
- Made it easier to hear approaching Spiderbots so players might fend off an impending face-hugging.
Miscellaneous Fixes:
Other notable updates include blocking players from entering and exiting the game lobby repeatedly, enabling the reporting and blocking of players on the scoreboard when using a mouse, and various crash fixes.
- Players are now blocked from entering and exiting the game lobby repeatedly, which sounds exhausting. Probably a win-win for everybody.
- Players couldn't report and block other players on the scoreboard when using mouse input, but now they can do that.
- Crash fixes, various.
