These characters are well written and designed with backstories, emotions and personalities that evolve throughout the games. A well character design also helps the players to connect visually. These characters have different and interesting looks, expressions, movements and much more that makes them memorable. Whether it’s the detailed armor of the knights, high tech suit of a sci-fi hero or an exaggerated feature of a cartoon character, their small details play a crucial role in shaping the player’s experience. A different and a creative design leaves a long and lasting impression on the players ensuring that they talk about the character after the game is finished. The emotional connection is one of the many reasons video games have become a powerful storytelling medium than books and films in their ability to evoke empathy and emotional depth.

Aside from looks and personality, characters in game also have the abilities and skills that players use to interact with the game world that lacks in the books and in the movies. The books just describe the appearance and the activities of the characters and we imagine it in our mind and in the movies, we can see the characters performing different kinds of stunts which we enjoy it, but in the video games it gave us the controls and we can use it whenever required which makes us feel that we using it and decisions also impact the outcome of the game, making a more realistic way of experience. In the game God of War, Kratos uses different kinds of techniques for brutal combat which is done by the players preferences that lacks in both Books and in the Movies. The combat skills, upgrades and the ability aren’t just game mechanics but they are the key part of who the character is.
