Elden Ring is a reminder why (good) videogames are SO important.
As someone who got into the Soulsborne series a long time ago, with Dark Souls 1, before Bloodborne came out and really showed me who incredible these games are, Elden Ring has truly exceeded all expectations. To be fair, I didn’t know what to expect with the game, other than an open world souls' game. Which I was super down for. But I had no idea what we were in store for. Over 40 hours into the game, and I’m maybe over halfway through I honestly don’t know. But one thing is for damn sure, this is one of the greatest games to have ever been released and a reminder as to why video games are SO important.

The World of Darkness, as a setting, speaks to some of the darker parts of our mythological monsters. Not only that, but it finds a way to show the human aspects of the inhuman. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons and more become people we can understand, and even identify with even as they step further and further away from humanity. However, of all the lore that has been added to this modern fantasy mythos, none is as confusing to some folks as that found in Changeling: The Lost. The tagline A Game of Beautiful Madness is well-earned, and it can be intimidating for players who aren't used to a setting that's quite as fluid, or where the darkness hides behind whimsy and wonder.

The Ranger
The forest was quiet. Nothing seemed to break the silence. Not insects nor animals, not even the wind stirred. Ancient elm and oak trees abounded with a few evergreens scattered about. The ground was far from clear, with piles of fallen branches everywhere and dozens of tiny branches obscuring the view. An observer would possibly notice the minutely incremental movement of a caterpillar on an elm branch, but the faint scuffling to the west gave away the position of the intruder. The deer bounded into view past the old man who appeared to be sleeping. Chasing the deer was a pack of very large wolves. The creatures had riders, goblins with bows. As they leapt over his position, the sleeping giant awoke.
