Have Both a Good Ending (and a Bad One) For Your Character
While a lot of players prefer to just sit down at a table and let their character go wherever the dice take them, most of us have at least some vague idea of what we're trying to accomplish by the end of a campaign. Maybe we want to earn a knighthood from the king, defend the realm from a dire threat, or to avenge the death of a loved one, but whatever it is, we usually have some idea of what a resolution to our character's story looks like.

Tarkov's Arena Launch is a Disgrace
Arena’s launch and everything that has happened since then has been nothing short of a disaster. I normally try not to be so superfluous, but this has been an awful experience. And I mean that in the sense that I haven’t experienced arena because I still don’t have access. And the fact that apparently, people on twitter are bugging BSG for access and getting in, whilst people who have had EOD for years are still waiting is disgusting, disrespectful and shameful to sit back and watch. The worst part? Arena is fun! Like genuine good ass fun. Sure, the gameplay loop is marred with issues, grind, and complete unbalance, but running around in arena and shooting other players is such a good time. But everything... everything around the gameplay is such a problem. Access issues, balance, unnecessary grind; this was supposed to be a massive and relatively easy W for BSG. I can see why they waited so long to release it now. It was never fully ready. Granted, we knew that going into it, but my god is it worse than we thought. This whole thing is just so disappointing, if I may be real for a moment. I was excited to jump on and test things, give some feedback, but alas I am not in yet. So, for the time being, I guess we’ll just go over what I’ve witnessed watching a lot of arena and figure out what direction the ship should be steered in.

The RMR in Tarkov is One Example of Awful Optics
Tarkov is known for its brevity of attachments on offer to customize your guns with. It’s honestly intimidating when you first get into weapon modding proper in this game, with all the different options and locations that these pieces can be placed on. And while there is a surprising amount on offer, when you really understand the mechanics of weapon modding, there are only a handful of options that are worth using if you are trying to make the most out of your weapon. Of course, variety is the spice of life, and using different weapons, optics, suppressors, foregrips; switching these parts out every now and again helps cure some of the potential boredom that can come with late wipe Tarkov. Using the same weapon with the exact same attachments repeatedly. And yes, some people enjoy that gameplay loop and only want to use the best to have the highest chance of survival out there. There’s no shame in that. But when it comes to attachments and specifically different optics in the game, everyone has their own preferences with certain dots and scopes on different weapons. Obviously, things like the Razor and Vudu will always be highly sought after because they are so effective in what they do. But even with smaller optics like red dots, people have their own favorites. And unfortunately, over the years, BSG has made some... let’s call it “adjustments” to how some of the red dots and scopes in general operate in the game. Specifically, the RMR micro red dot sight has been absolutely gutted in Escape From Tarkov, and it is unfortunate, because for the longest time, it was one of the better micro dots in the entire game. Today, I want to talk about this red dot, go over what happened to it, and the general mentality with optics in the game and how they can be better preserved for the future, as we continue to get new parts added into the game. If you want to kill Greylorm and unlock the legendary schematics, you must first complete the prerequisite tasks of collecting USBs. Once you're done, open the map and find the storm. Zoom in and search the area around the storm for two adjacent ammunition depots. This is where you need to go. In the game you can find two specific locations where ammunition depots are clearly visible. Near these ammunition depots you will find several stations. Approach these sites and you will see a message stating "Refractor needs to activate Eepa Storm".

Can Anyone Make the "Perfect" Extraction Game?
This is a genre of videogame that has had a tumultuous lifespan over the more recent years. The idea of an extraction-focused video game sounds incredibly interesting on paper. You gear up with whatever is available to you in your stash or from a variety of vendors, you either go in solo or round up your friends and see what kind of chaos you can get into. Hopefully, and ideally, no one dies and everyone in the party can loot up and extract together. That doesn’t usually happen, but it’s the best feeling when it does. But this style of game is usually much more complex than just load in, loot, and get out. There are tons of systems, mechanics, knowledge checks; everything that allows these games to be on a surface level, relatively inviting for new players to experience, while at the same time, having a level of depth that is discovered once a few hours are put into the game. And while some are better at this than others, the entire genre of extraction-based games, whether they are shooters or melee focused, all have a similar gameplay loop. And said loop, when done correctly can be heavily addictive once it clicks and you get into it. But that’s where the crux of this entire conversation stems from; the lack of many coherent games that have nailed down this specific style of gameplay loop. Obviously, the biggest game to get this right is Escape From Tarkov. But because of this game’s success, many others have dipped their toe into the same water just to experience making that type of game, or game mode is like. Some have created an interesting game with this loop that warrants playtime and experiencing the world for what it is. And others, while on the right track, were missing some key components that give this genre the feelings that can be evoked by the player when done correctly. So, the main question of today’s video is, can anyone create the “perfect” extraction-based game? We’ll look at some examples of games and modes that are out, what they’ve done right, and what could be improved upon and figure out an answer from there.
