Death Stranding, Covid, and a people struggling to find meaning in a disaster.
Death by Covid is a slow painful affair. About 2-5% of Covid patients die 2 weeks to several months after positive diagnosis is confirmed. Usually, by the time they’re dead, hospitals have tried everything from amputations to ventilators to keep these patients alive. Covid lowers the amount of oxygen in the blood, forcing the body to cut off oxygen supply to limbs and non-vital functions. Sepsis, infection, and decaying tissue forced many Covid patients to endure traumatic and painful surgeries, surgeries that often proved fruitless. Talk to anyone, and chances are they know someone who succumbed to Covid-19. Never before in our nation’s modern history has one affliction claimed such a vast number of human lives in such a short span of time. By comparison the opioid epidemic claimed 500,000 lives over the span of 20 years. People of all ages, nationalities, races, and religious affiliations crumbled under the weight of severe Covid infection.

Games and Transmedia
The modern market is filled with debatable concepts and transmedia is one of them. There is plenty of discussion around the term, its distinguishing features, and use cases but the fact remains – it is difficult to launch a selling product without engaging transmedia.

The Unspoken truths
By: Tonya McLean Video games have been a part of our culture for decades; the industry as a whole is over 70 years old. The first game was created in 1958. Most games have been claimed to take place in the world of fiction or fantasy others based on real things like Sports or Simulations. For years this claim has given parents no reason to believe that games wouldn’t have real life facts included in them. However, what the parents didn’t realize is that even though games are based in the world of fantasy and fiction that fact was mostly for the story, not the actions that took place in the game; sometimes the story has real life in it as well. For example, the Legend of Zelda series back story is that the world was created from 3 goddesses each represented by a triangle. There are parallels to religion and under those beliefs how the world was created. In the first of the Tomb Raider remake series the team gets stranded on an island in the Dragon’s Triangle in Japan and there really is a Dragon’s Triangle in Japan. The survival strategies in all three of those games are real life facts as well. There’s one fact that expands all video games. That fact is that the player needs determination and problem solving skills in order to beat the game. Such characteristics and skills are needed in order to make it in life.

Little Black Book
I was walking home from work one evening; I came across something that looked like someone had lost their wallet. It didn't take me long to realize later that it was a little black book. I seriously wanted to return the little black book back to the owner, but I had no successful luck for weeks.

There Is Reportedly A 'Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic' In Development, But It Isn't From EA Or Bioware. Top Story - January 2021.
When it comes to Star Wars video games, one that many fans want to see have a resurgence, whether it be in the form of a video game remake or an adaptation for film or television, is 2003's Knights of the Old Republic. Taking place nearly 4,000 years before the films, this game spawned a sequel video game, an MMORPG franchise, a comic series, and some novels. The names of some of the game's characters, especially the Sith, have become staples of Star Wars lore conversations. The game was so well received that some of those who played it express that they want to see some sort of return to it in our modern era, perhaps even a remake that would be considered canon instead of Legends. Some bits of the lore have even made their way into the animated series Star Wars Rebels and the visual dictionary for Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

Male Toxicity in Video Games
Video games - and gamers in general - often receive a bad reputation that is largely unwarranted. As being violent - easily counterracted with such games as Thief, which espouses a non-violent approach, or Mario Kart, or Final Fantasy, which is often characterized with more video than actual game play these days .
