Virat Kohli backed off from the Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the Mega Auction 2022. The team of Chennai Super Kings failed to retain Faf du Plessis and even in the auction, they did not go big in order to chase him back. In a high-bid auction battle, RCB gained Faf. He was the perfect skipper option apart from Kohli and he was crowned so.
