8 Disappointing Things About 'LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2'
Don’t get me wrong, I could play as LEGO Star Lord all day, mostly holding the B button to listen to his jams and watch him dance around. Other than that, however, I was unfortunately very disappointed with the latest in the LEGO superhero franchise. I feel it is important to note that I almost always play local co-op, and this game was played through on multiplayer over three days. Why three days? I just didn’t have that “new game urge” – you know the one, where you have a new game and all you want to do is keep playing it all day every day. I have only played the main story, but while I am writing this, my partner is playing solo and exploring the open world of Chronopolis.

Are Loot Boxes Gambling?
Video gaming in the modern age can be brilliant. In a moment's notice, you can be connected to people on the other side of the world, challenging to be the best in glorious 4K graphics. It's truly something to appreciate. Games are worked on after release to fix bugs and provide the optimal gaming experience. More is invested in big releases and that's great, but with this comes what some see as one of modern gaming's biggest scams: Loot boxes.

'Uncharted: The Lost Legacy' Review
The Uncharted series, deciding to celebrate its ten year anniversary with a new game not featuring its main hero after what seemed like a definitive final chapter in A Thief's End, seemed like an odd one. You may wonder what the point is, but fans of the series will know that the cast that has supported Nathan Drake is amazing, full of rich, complex characters who all feel very human.

Indie-Developed RPG 'Bevontule' Hitting Kickstarter on January 29
Welcome to the continent of Onich, a once vibrant land that’s since been touched by decay and riddled with deadly foes. Over the 1,500 years since its discovery by refugees fleeing from a devastated homeland, the continent’s dark history slowly started to surface, its provinces falling victim to the ravenous Kelvari. The network of evil is responsible for breeding “Rootsouls,” the fierce creatures that have claimed parts of Onich as their own.

So You Want to Be a Pokémon Master? - Hoenn
Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and their remakes as Omega, Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire are fantastic games that introduced a whole host of new Pokémon to fans of the franchise, as well as one of the most overpowered legendary Pokémon in Rayquaza (the Mega Evolved form ended up having its own tier created in competitive battling; AG, or Anything Goes). While all the new additions weren't quite that strong, they certainly gave a refresh to game play.

'Metal Gear Survive' and the Developer's Quandary
On September 21st, 2016, I went on a little rant, calling die-hard Metal Gear fans “dramatic,” claiming that they put the series on “such a high pedestal that any deviation from the source material is viewed as a black mark, a cancer that will only serve to destroy all they’ve grown to love.” All of this, of course, was in response to the reveal of Konami’s Metal Gear Survive, and was part of a piece explaining how the title wasn’t the end-all for the series.

Will There Ever Be Another Game Series Like the 'Witcher 3:Wild Hunt?'
The third installment of the Witcher series won 249 awards, more than any in the year 2015, and won the golden joystick award. It was due to the fact that the game itself was highly praised for its storytelling, visual effects, its large content, and is considered by many RPG fans to be the greatest open world game of all time.

The Plight of the Indie Developed Survival Video Game
More than a decade ago, the concept of an open-world game built around the struggles of survival in a cruel environment was new and fresh. It may have seen its first inception in the early 90s with UnReal World and later again in 2006 with the Java-released Wurm Online, but the genre didn’t really become a genre until 2009, with the release of Minecraft.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Review
I came out of Resident Evil 6 with one feeling – regret. Why had I suffered through three pointless campaigns filled with bland set pieces and monotonous firefights? What was so important about watching Leon Kennedy turn into an action hero or seeing Chris Redfield’s spiral into alcoholism? It took a second dreaded playthrough for me to realize it was all nostalgia-fueled hope that Capcom was ready to deliver Resident Evil in the way I had remembered it from umpteen years prior.
