COVID-19: Has The Gaming Industry Been Affected?
In brief – yes, the gaming industry has taken a rather horrible thud to the head thanks to the virus outbreak. But how? Surely with the world being put in lockdown and the only way to satisfy those bored minds would be with the power of gaming consoles? Well, effectively yes. There's no denying a lot of singletons and families alike have taken to console gaming in order to fuse some of that frustration that's piling up thanks to the scaremongering media outlets. But there is a much darker turn of events that is collapsing in the background that not many people are noticing.

The people cry out in terror as the legions of hell pour out across the earth. Demons and unholy abominations stalk the night slaughtering the innocent. Mirror's Edge Review
I don't typically buy a lot of games; if you looked at my Steam library you'd see a lot of free-to-play titles that I've picked up over the last two years. Loop: The Distress Call is a text-based interactive fiction game that we’ve been working on here at Advenworks for the last three to four years. Players step in the role of an Investigator at Fleet HQ who must handle what seems like a routine distress call from one of the Fleet’s active duty ships. Events unfold in simulated real-time via text message correspondence with the ship’s lone responsive crewmember, Ensign Althea Young. As the game progresses, players must work with Ensign Young to unravel the mystery before them.
