Is 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' Remastered Dropping In 2019?

Rumours of the long-awaited release of 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered' are rife within the gaming community, right now. Although there has been no official announcement from Activision, the fans feel (and hope) that a release date will soon be announced.

'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' is, undoubtedly, one of the most popular CoD games of the series. Fans, the world over, have been screaming out for a remastered version to come to current gen machines for years.

In 2016, we saw Raven Software give 'Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare' the full 4K remaster make-over. This iteration was praised by fans and critics, alike. Bringing the game up to par with the industry's visceral best.

This release came just shy of a decade after the original, which first released back in 2007.

'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' released back in 2009. The game is fast approaching its own 10th anniversary (November 10, 2019) and fans believe that it will likely follow the same pattern as its predecessor.

Plus, MW2 is, still, yet to be added to the backwards compatibility playlist on Xbox One. Further suggesting that Activision has it earmarked for an alternate path back to the market.

The likelihood is that it will release as a bundle package on November 10th, 2019 as an attachment to the latest Call of Duty game. That would certainly be a viable way for Activision to maximise their revenue and increase sale volumes of their upcoming title.

With this remaster we should see some of the series' most iconic maps the likes of Highrise, Favela, Afghan, and Rust make an emphatic return to the world of online gaming in stunning fidelity.

For now, it's all just speculation but it is certainly something to get a little excited about - for nostalgia sake, at least. As soon as we hear more, we will let you know.
