Cursed Digicam Game Review
What happened to our daughter?

Another horror game to review! I have learned that I have a lot of catching up to do with these indie horror games. So many great ones to play, I love this so much!
Let’s get into Cursed Digicam.
Our daughter has mysteriously died at a playground, right off the bat we are thrown into the action as we find a website that gives us a special camera in order to release the spirit of our daughter into the afterlife.
This looks like it takes place in the 1990s, with a boxy computer monitor and a sketchy looking website. But, we are desperate to free our daughter, so let’s do it. All we need to do is take fifteen photos of our daughter and upload them to the website. No problem, right?
We go to the park and things are already creepy from the dreary atmosphere and the aspect of this being the last place our daughter was alive. We find evidence of our daughter, with various positions and placements of the photos. We do this by using different numbers found around the park and calling on the park phone to hear from our daughter.
I am somehow calm about hear from the daughter, as if I’m relieved to hear that she is somehow still around for us to interact with her. For some reason, our daughter, Mitsuka, tells us on the phone that her head hurts.
Once we find ten photos when suddenly it gets pitch black outside. Okay…time to get scared. Finding the remaining five photos allows us to return home and upload the photos to the website. At this point, I thought that the game would be over with our daughter being freed into the afterlife.
However, a video plays which shows Mitsuka running away from something, hiding in the bathroom. This is not a good sign. It is at our home that we discover that the website did not work, and our daughter is still trapped. Then the fun begins again - taking more photos in our home, bottles and trash reveals that possibly after the death of Mitsuka, we, the father, turned to drinking and have not kept up the home.
Suddenly, the mascot from the park, a mouse figure, appears in our home along with an old woman apparition. At this point, yours truly is very confused as I did not know what to do other than take pictures. Turns out, this was the correct action, as the mascot suddenly comes after us, with our only defense being our camera. Taking pictures of the mascot allows us to get away throughout the house.
It appears the old woman is the mascot, as her body appears with the mouse head. From here, I felt the mystery had been solved, with it being obvious that the mascot actually harmed our daughter.
We upload more photos into the computer, with another video plays, showing us checking Mitsuka in the night. She faints, seemingly from an unknown source. We then get a cutscene where Mitsuka calls the police, bloodied on her side, telling the police that her father killed a missing girl. What?!
It appears that her father (the player) knew about his daughter calling the police and did something about it. The police arrive to our house, to which the father commits suicide off the top of the building.
Needless to say, that ending did a number on me. It’s like the father was guilt stricken for the death of his daughter, but buried his own guilt for harming children in alcohol.
The studio for this game, Chilla’s Art, has other games that I have yet to play, but I’m looking forward to playing them. It makes me wonder if there are other twists and turns in their stories. I love this type of storytelling! The creepy part, not the death part.
As of January 2026, this game is on Steam for $8. I highly recommend you guys play this game and find the photos yourself. While I have spoiled the game, the way this game was made was a treat to experience myself.
