It all began in the late 1990s, when Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) were still a new frontier. One of the most popular at the time was EverQuest, a sprawling fantasy world filled with dragons, dungeons, and endless opportunities for players to connect. Among the hundreds of servers hosting the game, one stood out: Stormspire.

Stormspire wasn’t special because of the game’s mechanics; every server offered the same maps, quests, and monsters. What made it legendary was the community that formed there. Players began to know each other not just by their character names, but by their personalities, quirks, and even life stories. Guilds formed families, rivalries played out like epic sagas, and in many ways, it was a digital village where everyone knew everyone else.

At the heart of Stormspire was a guild called The Silver Blades. Led by a player known as Arannis, they were not the strongest or most feared group, but they were the most respected. Arannis was a high school teacher in real life, and he brought that same sense of patience and encouragement into the game.
