The Shadowblight DoT Necro is hands down one of the strongest builds to pop up in Diablo IV Season 10. The Shadowblight passive basically turns every DoT you throw out into a chain reaction of brutal AoE explosions. With the new Chaos Perk system in play, the synergy between Shadow damage, curses, and DoTs feels way more insane than before.

Why the Shadowblight Necro is strong

The whole build revolves around the Shadowblight passive, which makes every tick of Shadow damage stack toward a big AoE detonation. In Season 10, it just clicks perfectly with the DoT playstyle. When you drop Blight or blow up corpses with Corpse Explosion, you’re not just hitting once—you’re stacking Shadow damage that constantly feeds into more explosions. The end result? Entire packs of mobs get corroded, staggered, and then completely wiped out in a chain of detonations.

This setup shines in Chaos Rifts, Helltide events, and even boss fights. Trash mobs melt instantly, while bosses keep bleeding out as your DoTs grind them down in the background. You focus on keeping your positioning clean, dropping Blight zones, and pumping out corpses, while the explosions do the heavy lifting. On top of that, the build pairs nicely with farming runs, since you’ll be clearing so fast you’ll scoop up a ton of Diablo 4 items and gold along the way. The constant rotation of DoTs, curses, and detonation loops makes the Shadowblight Necro feel both destructive and efficient.

Key Skills

Blight: Your main DoT and AoE tool. Cast this to cover the ground in Shadow damage zones that linger and weaken enemies.

Corpse Explosion: The bread-and-butter synergy. Explodes corpses for massive AoE damage while feeding Shadowblight stacks.

Decrepify: A curse that slows enemies, reduces their damage output, and amplifies the effectiveness of your Shadow DoTs.

Army of the Dead / Blood Wave: Either ultimate works. Army of the Dead gives massive burst against bosses, while Blood Wave offers both control and wave-clearing utility.

Bone Prison: A defensive and offensive tool that locks enemies in place while enabling Aspect procs and setting up easy detonations.

Key Aspects

Aspect of Explosive Mist: Enables loops with Blood Mist, turning you into a walking chain of Corpse Explosions.

Aspect of Decay: Boosts your Shadow DoT scaling, directly amplifying Blight and Corpse Explosion damage.

Aspect of the Damned: Increases damage against cursed enemies, perfectly aligning with Decrepify’s utility.

Aspect of Untimely Death: Provides execute-style scaling, ensuring enemies at low health simply evaporate.

Season 10 introduced Chaos Perks, and they fit seamlessly into this build. Perks that increase damage-over-time, area damage, and explosion radius push Shadowblight into overdrive. Since the build already thrives on stacking small, constant sources of Shadow damage, these perks amplify both its consistency and raw damage. In practice, this means every fight turns into a storm of chain reactions, with corpses detonating, Blight zones ticking, and Shadowblight explosions spreading across the battlefield.

Playstyle

Start fights by throwing down Decrepify to soften enemies up and boost your damage.

After that, drop Blight in choke points or right under elites so the DoTs start stacking fast.

Spam Corpse Explosion every chance you get—this is where the Shadowblight detonations really start snowballing and wiping packs.

When things slow down, hit Blood Mist with the Aspect of Explosive Mist and just keep the explosions rolling while staying safe.

Hold on to Army of the Dead or Blood Wave for elites, bosses, or those chunky Chaos Rift waves that need some extra burst.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:

Incredible AoE clear speed.

Consistent single-target damage through DoT stacking.

Strong crowd control with curses and Bone Prison.

Perfect scaling with Season 10 Chaos Perks.

Weaknesses:

Dependent on corpses for maximum damage.

Requires positioning to ensure enemies remain inside Blight zones.

Gear reliant: the build only reaches peak power with specific aspects.

The Shadowblight DoT Necro is easily one of the strongest setups in Diablo IV Season 10. It mixes nasty DoTs with corpse-fueled explosions and leans on the Shadowblight passive to just tear through everything. Trash packs disappear in seconds, bosses get shredded, and the whole thing feels smooth once it’s rolling. With Chaos Perks boosting damage-over-time, the build hits true endgame status and clears fast enough that you’re stacking tons of Diablo 4 gold along the way.
