What Delivery Service Do You Use?
Hope It's Not Uber Eats!!

There are not many people that do not use delivery services. Whether you started before or during Covid, most of us have used at least one. We are the world of Amazon orders, Instacart and immediate deliveries to fit our busy schedules.
So how do you rate them?
Uber Eats
Unfortunately, I have used Uber Eats for the last time. On a recent trip to Florida, I ordered some coffee from Uber Eats and I was very happy. Then, I went to order it again. I was so happy that the place was open at 7 am as we had an early checkout. Suddenly the delivery times changed every five minutes and now it was almost an hour later. So, I canceled my order, figuring I would just drive there and get my coffee. Well, to my surprise, the place was not even open. So, it was all done through Uber Eats and the place accepted my order and I was being charged (even though I canceled).

So, it is a week later and I still have no credit. I have had 10 chats on the app which led me to 4 emails. Each email gives me the same response – Provide your order number, credit card and more specifics. I was given a different case number each time I reached out with no resolutions. Needless to say, even though it is not a lot of money, it is the principle of it now and I feel taken advantage of. I will not back off.
I then filed a complaint with Pay Pal and am hoping that they resolve this issue.
Bottom line: Uber Eats has NO customer service at all and does not care if people are ripped off so I will NEVER USE UBER EATS again. As soon as I get my money back, they will be deleted forever.
Instacart
On the other hand, I have had nothing but excellent service with Instacart. I use it at home, when I am traveling, to send things to my daughter and I have never had an issue. They are courteous, always in touch and aim to please their customers.

Instacart still remains my favorite of all delivery services because of their customer interaction and courtesy.
Grub Hub
I have used Grub Hub a few times since it comes with Amazon Prime and I am very happy with their service. Fees are clear for delivery, as well as time for delivery, and any additional charges. I have ordered food from them in a pinch and am always satisfied. I would highly recommend using them.
Door Dash
I have used Door Dash a number of times for food delivery or local store delivery. Not only are they efficient but there are no hidden agendas. I actually know people who have worked for Door Dash and who are very happy with how they are treated and paid. I will continue to use them even when I travel.
So, at the end of the day my recommendations to Uber Eats is:
. Stick with driving people to the airport.
. Get better and more efficient customer service!
I’m sure that as the years continue to go by there will be other services available and I will give them a try. I will not give Uber Eats another chance because even though they just owe me for some coffee, I feel offended and disrespected as a consumer. We are in very high inflation times and we need to keep track of every dollar we spend. I know that we get ripped off a lot in shopping endeavors but it is something that has to improve. As consumers, we need to be satisfied with our shopping experiences more and less worried about businesses ripping us off. Like why are all the diners now charging $2 more for an omelet and will that price go down when the price of eggs does? I doubt it. We continue to get screwed daily and this is an example of why it is important to stick up for your rights as a consumer.
If you enjoyed my opinion piece, please share with a friend or on social media. I plan on it.
