Captivatingly, all eyes fixated on the flight attendant as she hurriedly navigated through the passengers, paying no heed to their requests. Ignoring their confusion, she darted towards the cockpit, leaving everyone bewildered. Little did they know, a perilous situation was about to unravel before their unsuspecting eyes.

It was Thanksgiving, and a plane bound from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington was bustling with holiday travelers. Amidst the seemingly ordinary airport routine, an enigmatic figure entered unnoticed—D.B Cooper. Like a shadow, he slipped past the attention of the crowd, concealing his true intentions. To this day, his real identity remains shrouded in mystery. Known only by the name D.B Cooper, a moniker bestowed upon him by the media, he purchased a ticket under the alias Dan Cooper.

Witnesses described him as a middle-aged man in his forties, donning a dark business suit accentuated by a black raincoat. A white shirt and a sleek black tie completed his enigmatic ensemble. The flight, a mere 37 minutes in duration, lulled the passengers into a false sense of security, oblivious to the imminent danger lurking in their midst.

Carrying nothing more than a black briefcase and a nondescript brown paper bag, Cooper tactfully chose a seat in the rear row. As the plane prepared for takeoff, he ordered beverages, blending in seamlessly with his fellow travelers. Anticipation filled the air as the passengers eagerly anticipated a joyful Thanksgiving feast with their loved ones, unaware of the unfolding drama that awaited them.

Cooper patiently bided his time, his meticulous plan taking shape. The flight attendant, with her seat just behind him, became the unwitting recipient of a note he discreetly handed over. Initially dismissing it as a mere phone number, she was taken aback when he leaned in, urging her to read it. The color drained from her face as the gravity of the situation dawned upon her. Unsure whether it was a prank or a genuine threat, she glanced at Cooper, who stared back, unwavering. The note hinted at a devastating payload concealed within his luggage, demanding a ransom of two hundred thousand dollars to ensure everyone's safety by 5 PM.

Though it may appear a modest sum considering the circumstances, in that era, it carried substantial weight, equivalent to approximately 1.4 million dollars today. Cooper also stipulated the provision of two front parachutes and two main parachutes to be strapped to his back. The flight attendant relayed his demands to the pilot via radio, and gradually, the disconcerting news spread among the passengers. Observing her apprehension and unease, they sensed that something was awry.

Upon landing in Seattle, Cooper's audacious plans were far from over. Exuding confidence, he coordinated the delivery of the ransom money and the refueling of the aircraft, ensuring the continuation of his grand scheme. His request for four civilian parachutes, hastily procured from a local skydiving school, was promptly met. Determined to maintain control, he forbade anyone from leaving the plane until the money was safely in his possession.

With the money finally in hand and the aircraft refueled, only three flight crew members and three cabin crew remained aboard. Cooper's patience wore thin as further delays ensued. However, he maintained his composure, never resorting to aggression. The plane eventually took off, setting the stage for his meticulously crafted plan to unfold.

Presenting the pilots with a flight plan, Cooper instructed them to fly towards Mexico City at a deliberately slow pace, maintaining an altitude of approximately 10,000 feet. The carefully plotted flight route bore the hallmarks of someone well-versed in aviation. To ensure his safety, he demanded that the landing gear
