Tesla-A genius who changed the world
The man who defined the era of electricity, Nikola Tesla, and his tragic story and facts that most of us do not know about.

Imagine being able to transmit wireless energy all over the world and that too for free. Or imagine having the power of fabrication of your project just in your imagination without any pen or paper. These are some of the many things that give you an idea about a man ahead of his time, Nikola Tesla.
Nikola Tesla was born in 1856 in Croatia. He was a Serbian-American by origin. Tesla’s mother had an unbelievable power of memorizing; she could memorize epic poems. Tesla inherited that ability. He dedicated his life and inventions to humanity rather than profit and marketing.
Nikola Tesla was a university dropout due to gambling and other issues. He then joined Edison Machine Works. He went to America in 1884 and became a citizen in 1891 . At that time, DC current was used, which could be sent a small distance and just used for lighting. Tesla had the concept of AC current, which we are using in modern times, which is basically a current that changes direction periodically. It could be sent a long distance at high voltage and then reduced to a safe and low voltage for home, factory, and other uses. Here the war of current began for Edison and Tesla, as the popularity of DC currents would be demolished and the Edison Company would be obliterated if AC current got into people's attraction. Edison offered Tesla 50 thousand dollars to redesign his 24 obsolete machines and betrayed him after Tesla had done his job. Tesla left the Edison company 6 months later. Then he went on working on his own to develop the alternating current. Tesla was looking for funding for his project. A man named George Westinghouse was convinced of Tesla's works and concepts, and the Tesla electric company was founded in 1887.Tesla designed an electric motor that was easy to handle and cheap, and it was approved by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Westinghouse hired Tesla as their consultant for 55 thousand dollars per month at that time. Edison started the execution of pet animals by electrocution to prove that AC current was dangerous . In 1903, they executed an elephant by running 6600 volts through her body. However, Tesla and Westinghouse showed in the World's Columbian Exposition that AC current is completely safe and viable, which raised huge popularity for them. Westinghouse established a hydroelectric plant at Niagara Falls. But the company went into debt by almost 10 million dollars. Then Westinghouse turned to Tesla to consider reducing his salary, but Tesla tore up the contract to completely eliminate the condition of 55 thousand dollars to show gratitude of friendship towards Westinghouse. The patent for alternating current was then purchased by Westinghouse for 216 thousand dollars, which Tesla used to fund future inventions and labs. In 1892, Tesla was working on wireless signals, but a disaster came in 1895. His lab was set on fire and all his hard work was gone. At the time, Italian scientist Marconi was also working on radio signals, and in 1911, he sent the first trans-Atlantic radio message, which was only possible due to Tesla's uncredited work. Edison funded Marconi's research because of his animosity towards Tesla. However, Tesla sued Marconi and won the case, but after 8 months after his death.
Tesla started working on his wireless energy dispersion system. He started to make a tower named Wardenclyffe Tower in New York, a 187-foot tall tower with A man invented JP Morgan. invested 150 thousand dollars in Tesla's project. Tesla doubled the size of the tower in his initial plan so that it could be used worldwide. But soon he was economically devastated and JP Morgan not only stopped funding but also blocked other investors. He had mainly a rubber business and a copper one. If Tesla could have been able to provide wireless energy and electricity, then his main business of making wire from copper and rubber would be doomed. The tower was destroyed and sold to another owner. Tesla was mentally devastated ,depressed and totally bankrupt. The tower could have also provided us with global time keeping, a marine system without a compass, and many other unimaginable things. But it was all in ruin and Tesla had a nervous breakdown. He spent the rest of his life in the New Yorker hotel, where he fed piegeons. The Westinghouse company carried his expenses as a token of friendship. He was found dead in his room in 1953.
Tesla believed that pyramids were an unlimited source of energy. A hydrologist named John Cadman said that the pyramid could work as a pulse generator. Maybe Tesla had some trace of something we are still unaware of. His inventions of AC current ,induction motor, hydroelectric power system, radio and cellphone wireless systems, primary neon light, tesla coil, etc. were era defining.
Some claim that Tesla had spirits and mystical influences. He said he used to see flashes of lightning, which were hard to distinguish from reality. He had all his inventive concepts in his head from that. He could design and fabricate his projects in his imagination and determine rooms for improvements and flaws. He said it worked as he conceived and it was immaterial to him whether he did a project in his head or in real life.
Maybe the world could have been different if all of his inventions had come to life. This great genius would live forever for his creations and inventions.
