Mind over matter
Throughout history there have been some incredible stories of people not accepting the cards they were dealt and persevering through incredible adversity. Since I absolutely love sports, I'll focus on a few athletes in particular that just would not that no for an answer and continued to chase their dreams.

Disturbing Loopholes
What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “child bride” or “child marriage?” Do you think of a far-off, poor, desolate country, completely unlike yours and your community? The unfortunate reality is, child marriage happens in the majority of the world, and has historically and disproportionately been an issue which affects young girls.

Bury Me Then Plant a Tree
Within the Philippines, deep in South Sulawesi, there is a grove of Tarra trees that have strange little patch marks going up and down their trunks. They look like a roof thatching carved into the side of the tree. Behind those patches is a morbid tradition that I find fascinating, disturbing, and beautiful all at once. This is something I discovered by accident and yet I cannot unlearn now that I know it. I am debating if I will adapt this idea into the novels, because it definitely fits my fantasy world’s religion. My fantasy world is not based on facts though. So here is my obscure truth and how I discovered it.

What a Posse of Hawai'ian Gods Can Teach Us About Psychology
The fields of mindfulness and embodiment have become hot-beds for psychology research and practice in the past few years, but as with so many of these things, they are rooted in ancient wisdom. It sometimes feels to me like the modern world is playing catch-up.

Spring is here, hopefully, and the world is beginning to emerge from more than a year of lockdowns, shutdowns and states-of-emergency. Our freedom and safety might still be fragile but the time is starting to feel right for a celebration...or thirty.

The World is in your words
The English language is a thief. Well maybe that is a little harsh. The English language shamelessly ‘borrows’ words, phrases and sayings from other languages with absolutely no intention of ever giving them back. It has been doing this from its first utterances, this may be because the Language itself evolved due to invasions, immigration and conquests of the British peoples.

The Signal
It was a sunny fall day in October 1923, an automobile chugs down a dirt road moving at a steady pace. At the same time a horse driven coach is headed towards the automobile from the right side. The automobile and the horse drawn coach collide causing a horrible accident at a corner intersection. At the intersection the horse is killed instantly, the car is damaged and it won’t crank, the carriage is turned over and people are injured, and stuff from the coach is scattered across the road. It took days to clean up after the accident. A witness to this accident was greatly grieved and very upset, he decided something had to be done. He pondered over the accident and why it happened and how this tragedy could not happen again.

International wig day was 10 March and you had no idea about it
Here’s your reminder that international wig day was the 10th of March and you missed it, yet again. A lot of you probably have no idea that this particular day in the calendar is reserved to wigs. International wig day is not just for the sake of wearing wigs and it’s probably not that famous because it’s been an international celebration since 2016, only 5 years ago!
