"Yes, Father, I must know that by heart." Ali Sa said to her father. "Do you have any other orders?"
"You should always do good deeds. Don't forget to be generous as long as you can, be kind to others, and be respected only by giving generously. The poet once said:
To be generous, to give,
Not everyone can do that.
Only those who can,
So I won't regret it later."
"Yes, Father, I must know that by heart." Ali Sa respectfully promised to follow his father's advice. "So what else do I need to notice?"
"My son, you must always have Allah in your heart to be blessed and protected by him. To cherish money, don't wait until the money wasted, and then go to the humble people pity. You know, money determines a person's position in this world. The poet once said:
Poor people are not close to relatives,
When people are rich, everyone wants to be close.
Just for the sake of money,
Enemies can be reconciled.
As soon as you are destitute,
My friends and relatives will leave me."
"Yes, Father, I must know that by heart." Ali Sa assured her father. "Anything else?"
"My son, look before you leap. Do not rush. You know, older people are always well-informed, and it's best to ask them for advice before doing anything. It is important to know that there are other people in the world. If you want higher people to sympathize with you, pity you, you have to show compassion to those who are weaker than you. Know that Allah is watching you all the time, so you should never bully the weak, or you will be punished. The poet once said:
one
One man cannot know everything,
You should always consult with others and listen to their advice.
You know, a mirror can only reflect your own face,
Two mirrors to see the back of your head.
two
Do things calmly and carefully,
Don't be too hasty.
For the convenience of others,
Be kind to others and they will be kind to you.
Allah looks down from heaven,
No one comes close.
Though the wicked walk for a time,
They will get what they deserve.
three
It's not in our nature to throw our weight around,
If you do much wrong, you will die.
While the doer is asleep,
Allah listens to the curse of his victims.
Wine is the root of all evil, it will erode your health and weaken your will, so you should abstain. The poet once said:
I've never had a thing for wine,
Soul and body preserved,
Consciousness and language are also attuned.
I don't associate with drunks,
I've never been so drunk in my life,
I never let the wine get in the way.
These are the lessons of my life and the admonitions of the wise. I hope you will remember what I have told you today. Now, I'm going to entrust you to Allah. Keep to yourself, my son."
Mattentin then fainted.
After a long time, he came to himself slowly, took a breath, and prayed deeply. He muttered the words from the Testimony: "I am convinced that Allah is unique, and I am convinced that Muhammad is his apostle." After a struggle, Mattentin died.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she watched her father finally die. Fortunately, he was a strong and wise young man, and at last he overcame his grief and took care of his father's affairs. Hearing that Mattentin was turning in his grave, the people felt grateful for his loyalty and kindness. They came to his funeral, men, women and children of all ages. Ali Sa, with the help of relatives and friends, spent a lot of money to hold a grand funeral for his old father. They laid Mattentin's body in a coffin after he had been washed and dressed.
Ali Sa laid his father to rest surrounded by mourners, reading from the Koran and carving a verse on the gravestone:
You are from the land, Allah has given you the right to be human,
You learn to praise him in human terms,
The cycle of life brings you back to the soil,
It's as if you never came to earth.
