Mermaids

"The truth about mermaids?"

By Marzi BanilohiPublished 5 years ago 5 min read

It was 2015, and I used to chill with my friends. Most of them were boys. I was one of the guys. At that time, I had more male friends than female friends. I still don’t really know why. I guess I was different from most females that I knew. Girls can be quite competitive, dress to impress each other, gossip, and whatnot. Those types of behavior didn’t fancy me much. I felt confident in my body and my being. Such social dogmas in relation to body image didn’t have an impact on me.

I had a curiosity much deeper that wouldn’t come up in conversations at a bar. If I ever entered a social event, I usually left quite early. I could not have a proper conversation with anyone without shouting “what?”!

So, I stayed over at my mates place a lot of times. My curiosity was pulling me to stay there for many days and nights.

We were watching endless movies and YouTube videos. Some really interesting deep conversations happened during those cold nights.

One night, one of my friends picked a video that we all were keen to watch. He was so thrilled by it that he wasn’t making much sense.

“You guys just have to watch this. You won’t believe your eyes. It goes for 2 and half hours but you have to watch this.” He would spit out. It was midnight already, but we had a sip of our beer and focused on the Large screen T.V.

“The truth about mermaids” was the name of the documentary. Although I must warn you, if you type this on YouTube now it's not available. Don’t ask me why!

The first hour of the documentary was about very long science research and discovery. About every 10 years, on every coastline around the world there were dead whales. All around the world by the beach, there were bodies of dead whales. But how did the whales die? Scientists were secretly gathering taking parts of the dead whale’s body to figure out how they died. There weren’t shot or hurt by another sea creature. They are on top of the animal food chain. The only suspicious part it showed was that their ears had a bit of blood coming out.

These scientists risking their life and chasing this case so vividly made us sit on the edge of our seats.

But how was this related to mermaids you may think? That’s why this was a 2 and half hour documentary. And we didn’t want to skip any parts, so we didn’t miss anything from this mysterious science research. There were so many layers in this story.

This research took many years and they found out so much more than what they were looking for. They put a voice recorder deep down inside the ocean and left it there until more whales would die. This was to find out if there were any bombings happening in the ocean. But there was no such thing!

They happen to notice that whales communicate with each other from a very long distance. This was beautiful to watch, as we know now whales are very high conscious animals. Just like elephants, whales seem to have emotions and intelligence.

Then the documentary had a turning point. There was a graphic moment that we were all waiting for. The ocean had a moment of silence. Long awaiting silence. The scientists stopped working and concentrated on the live sound recording. How come all the whales went silent altogether?

Then, suddenly, all the whales had a loud screaming noise. They sounded like they were in agony. It was horrible, it sounded like humans screaming. I am very empathic and could feel their pain, so I covered my eyes and ears.

And that’s how these poor whales suddenly died with blood coming out of their ears. It sounds very suspicious, and they couldn’t figure out what the sound was that was making only whales scream to death.

The scientists packed their gear and went to the shore to find whale bodies. They collected as much as they could and took it back to their lab.

They scanned and searched inside these whales’ bodies for a long time. This part made the documentary drag a bit. It wasn’t making sense to find out how they died. But we had to keep watching while still sitting on the edge of our seats.

Then they discovered human-like parts inside the whale’s bodies. So, you think whales really eat humans? Who knows! And quite frankly, who cares!

They dig a little deeper and found out that these parts were very similar to human bodies, with a slight difference. They found human-like hands, but with webs in-between their fingers. They couldn’t find human-like legs. Their conclusion was that these whales were eating MERMAIDS! YES! MERMAIDS are real. According to this top-secret science, research MERMAIDS ARE REAL!

By this point in the documentary, we had to pause and take a moment to digest all that information. We all had a similar break-through; like an “aha” moment.

“The Little Mermaid” is a very famous Disney movie. How did the creators come up with the character that human-like beings with fish tales live under the sea?

Human consciousness has much more intelligence than we think. We have such a deep collective connection with each other as well as Earth’s consciousness. We have been taught that we humans are at the top of the human-animal food chain pyramid. And that there is nothing above us who would eat us or be smarter than us. We think we are on top of the chain and alone in this gigantic cosmos called the universe.

We have limited ourselves in this nonsense belief.

There is so much life on our own planet that we don’t know. There is so much more life out in the cosmos and other planets that we really don’t know about. Then again, on the other hand, I hear people fearing to the top of their lungs about “aliens” entering and taking over planet Earth. We have wasted so much of our time growing up watching Hollywood movies. And grow up only knowing that we will most likely get attacked by anyone who is different from us.

Not only has the media brainwashed us to become racist, and fear each other, but to fear the unknown. We are lacking a lot of love for the creation of this whole universe and blind to the connection of it all.

When will we open our eyes?
