Nothing has had a greater impact on our current conception of time than the invention of the wristwatch. People wear it out of the ordinary in everyday life. In reality, the wristwatch has been around for nearly two centuries and has undergone several changes since its origin. Vintage wristwatches and antique wristwatches are still famous among people today. Many people use it because of its unique and rare. These wristwatches have their own character and it also defines the character of the person.

Growing Up Indigenous With a Colonizer's Face Learning to Decolonize as a Biracial Native Growing up, I remember thinking, "I'm so happy I'm Canadian because we're not racist like the United States." This was a common sentiment to the average person living in the early 2000s. Granted, I grew up in a small, predominantly white city. I was in my preteens by the time I had met someone of Asian descent. I was even older by the time I met a Black person. I was surrounded by the Mi'qmaq people of my area all my life; these people were my friends and family. I was embarrassingly far into my teenage years when I finally understood that First Nations people were people of colour. I had never seen them as different from myself. Dancing to Powwow drums and learning Indigenous crafts was a part of my daily life; it never occurred to me that it was a racial or cultural difference. It took me even longer to clue in that to every person who passed me by, I was white.

Balloon releasing deemed unsafe and illegal
On July 1 it will become illegal in the state of Virginia to release balloons into the air. The practice has been deemed unsafe for the environment as well as for small aircraft. There will be a $25.00 fine for those caught in the act in the Commonwealth. Other states including California, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, Tennessee, and New York, have also banned this popular activity. In Florida, it was determined that large numbers of balloons that were inflated with lighter-than-air gases posed a nuisance and a danger to the environment, marine animals, and wildlife.

Mexican Migrant Workers:
Every morning, Luis Arriega wakes before dawn to make the two-and-a-half-hour trek from his small Mexican village to Sinaloa de Leyva, where he works as an auto mechanic. His wife Maria stays home with the children and earns what she can, selling baskets at the local market. Maria and her oldest daughter weave the baskets from twigs that have been collected by the younger children. In addition to their daughter and the two children attending school, the Arriegas have a four-year-old son named Miguel who was born with a cleft palate.

Falling out of love with quantum mechanics
Quantum mechanics seems indistinguishable from magic for the uninitiated. Reading quantum mechanics certainly changes the way you look at everything. Learning physics at university is a journey in which you question everything, even things that you had ever assumed to be true. Fortunately you receive very testable answers, otherwise it would be nothing more than exciting glimpses which could never be proven.
