Third Millennium
Third Millennium It is evident in our contemporary society that the Silent and Beat Generation have had a profound and guiding influence on how young adults identify themselves and others, and how these previous generations have shaped America’s identification. The 21st century, however, also holds a significant role on how society interacts as the remarkable advancement in technology has caused an unhealthy dependency and consumption of mass media. Frank Conroy, a noted figure from the Silent generation who lived through the economic and social hardship caused by the bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima in 1945, would be astounded and perhaps even a bit overwhelmed by the economic inequity in America and the degradation of morality and the presence of unquestioning conformity in society.

Farewell to Portland Oregon
It was a fun place to live I moved to Portland almost 18 years ago. When I arrived, I did not plan on staying because I don't stay places more than 5 to 8 years. I may stay in the same city or surrounding area, but I don't stay in the same house. BUT — I did stay put here and in one house — because I loved where I lived — a floating home on a river. I liked my neighbors, and I loved my lifestyle.

The Scotsman
In the years following the fall of Camelot the continued struggle to unite England waged on. To the north in Scotland warring factions of Vikings continued their brutal and savage pillaging of local inhabitants. For over three hundred years up until the 9th century both England and Scotland were so divided wars and bloodshed was a fact of life. So little time for peace and prosperity and what little there was of both swiftly came to a violent and savage end. Out of this period rode a man who would change the landscape of England and Scotland. Silas Moore a Saxon noble whose own linage can be traced to the court of Charlemagne arrived in Southern England at a time when the English Saxons were constantly being threatened by Danish invaders from the East.

What's the deal with Mail Routes?
I am waiting on a postal delivery. I rarely use my mailbox. I check it at best once a week. But today, there may be a check arriving and money is always a powerful motivator. However, I have no idea when my mail usually arrives. In the past I would not often be home during the delivery time. In addition my mailbox is across the street and the view is obstructed by trees. So unless I look outside at just the right moment, I am unlikely to see the mail truck drive by. So today's writing exercise will be focused on learning as much as I can about mail routes.

Why do animals Hibernate?
Some species have developed adaptations to the conditions that allow them to live longer under malnutrition: they enter a state known as hibernation - and what happens when an animal sleeps in bed is even more amazing than the long-term threat - extreme. metabolic changes occur in the animal's body as body temperature drops and heart rate and shortness of breath to conserve energy - some animals slow down similarly, eat less, and move - while other species enter the same area.
