I Wish This Story Was Not True

But it is

We never know ones' struggles until we do. There is a fine line between being and been, existing and just exist, and being physcially there and just being.

We always hear about the struggles, fear, and sadness that people are feeling in this day and age. When you turn on the news it endless. When we talk to others about the current world emotional temperature we get the frustration. It is different when you know someone going through it. I have a friend that is living in a shelter after making a lot of money in a job before they were laid along with the whole department. This individual has struggled with family, health, and money. I cannot even begin to explain how bad it is.

Being the person that I am this is so hard for me. I have tried advice, asking around if anyone knows of jobs, and performing healing that I do. My friend is difficult in not listening, but the truth is there are no jobs out there. I challenge anyone in their 40's and 50's to look for a job right now. There are not many jobs, and there hasn't been for years. I myself on and off tried to apply for other jobs to make for money, and it took over a year.

Before I continue writing about the struggles my friend is faced with I want to discuss something that took me many years to learn. If you have 10 people looking at something to analyze you will get 10 different views. One person sees one thing, another person will find something else, and etc. You get it. Here lies the problem with people looking for work. Most people think this way, last year I made this much, so with all of my experience I need to make more. I hear all of you. Most people will hold out until they get that dream job which they deserve. In reality this economic climate you will be lucky if a retail store hires you. I am not exagerating. One day strike up a conversation at your local store, and find out how many people working there have master's degrees you will be shocked.

As I mentioned there are many points of views and not everyone sees things the same. When looking for work we have our desired pay rate, and working conditions. Again, everyone is different, but the struggles are the same for all. Getting back to the person I know they cannot find work, and literally alone in this economic battle. All anyone can do is offer support. However, finding a job is not the only issue, finding a place to live is a struggle. If you do not make $75,000.00 or more you cannot afford rent. When you are an adult you do not want roomates. We al have our own ways of living.

When I think of ways of helping my friend I can only offer suggestions, share jobs I find, and pray for her. Imagine sitting with your friend who is now living in a shelter, because they have no family, and no place to go. My heart breaks. If I had a place for her I would gladly let her stay, but I do not. Before one would know everything is going to be OK this is just a rough patch, and we will get through it. With jobs being cut constantly, companies losing money, and prices going up there is no end in sight. Most people are just hanging on by a thread. Many people feel I am so lucky to have a job, myself included.

My friend is one of many people that are living in shelters that once had a great life of traveling, going out, and being on their own. This article is for everyone to read. Let us all be grateful for what we have, do not take it for granted, and spread the positive energy to everyone who needs it right now. We can all use a little wish or two. There is no reason for any one to be without a job or home. As an adult your value should go up, not down.

As the value of our lives drift on and on, there is a silence in the wind to enlighten a song. To lift up the hearts of everyone, we will rise up together until it is won. Pitter patter as we run to our goal, the drums keep drumming to lift up our soul. A pinch here, a splash of this, tonight before I go to sleep I will wish. When I wish for something good, I expand to everyone with this piece of lucky wood. I know pass this positive energy to all, please carry it with out always, and do not fall.
