My first experience with a computer was a magical one. I remember the excitement and awe I felt as I sat down in front of the bulky machine, with its bright green text on a black screen. I was only a child at the time, but I knew that I was about to embark on a journey into the world of technology.
I had always been fascinated by computers, and I couldn't wait to see what this one could do. My father, who was a computer engineer, had brought the computer home for me to try out. He showed me how to turn it on and explained the basic functions of the operating system. I remember feeling a sense of accomplishment as I navigated through the different menus and opened up different programs.
But what really caught my attention was the games. My father had loaded a few games onto the computer, and I spent hours playing them. I remember the graphics were not that great compared to today, but the sense of adventure and exploration I felt as I played was undeniable. I remember one game in particular, called "King's Quest," where I explored a fantasy world, solving puzzles and completing quests. I remember feeling like I was in the game, rather than just playing it.
I was hooked. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to learn more about computers and how they worked. I would spend hours tinkering with the computer, trying to learn as much as I could. My father would often help me, but I also taught myself a lot by experimenting and reading through the computer's manual.
As I got older, my passion for computers only grew. I pursued a degree in computer science and eventually landed a job as a software engineer. It's been many years since my first experience with a computer, but I still remember it fondly. The sense of wonder and excitement I felt as I explored that first computer has stayed with me, and it's what drove me to pursue a career in technology.
Looking back, I realize how much of an impact that first experience had on me. Without it, I may not have chosen the path that I did. And while the technology has advanced, it the feelings of excitement and wonder I felt back then, still persist when i see latest tech advancements. It's a reminder of how powerful technology can be, and how it has the ability to change lives for the better.

My first encounter with a computer,
A bulky machine, so grand and stout,
I sat before it, my heart a flutter,
As I was about to venture out.
The green text on a black screen,
Filled me with excitement and awe,
A child I was, yet I knew,
This was a journey I couldn't ignore.
My father, a computer engineer,
Had brought it home for me to try,
He showed me how to turn it on,
And how to navigate through the sky.
The games he loaded, were a treat,
I spent hours playing, oh so fun,
Graphics not so great, yet the adventure,
A journey just begun.
King's Quest was my favourite,
Where I explored a fantasy land,
Solving puzzles and completing quests,
With my own two hands.
I was hooked, I knew it then,
My passion for computers had begun,
I pursued a degree, in computer science,
And now, my career has just begun.
Looking back, I realize,
That first encounter was key,
It shaped my future, my passion,
And my love for technology.
