Unexpected Twist

My Vicious Backstory

By Olivia BarryPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

Have you ever imagined living with a power that you can’t control and a father who hides it and you from the world? I do and that’s how I live my life.

Many years ago I was taken by an army of enemy soldiers that would use kids and turn them into weapons that are used against humanity. Sadly, I was one of those few. I was only five when I was taken. All around me there were other kids sobbing and screaming.

We were dragged into a small room covered in mould (the walls felt as though they were closing in on me, I found it hard to breath). Suddenly, I was shoved into a wide pole and carted through various hallways with lights flickering on and off, until finally we reached an outside area.

A dark, cold army facility was placed underneath a mountain range near the himilayas. The poles were placed into a lorry. I felt as though I was going to pass out from the pain I felt. I had barely noticed that my body and eyes were glowing a bright red. A warm and welcoming sensation began to overcome the pain. Someone shouted “ Ella es una de ellas usa el tranquilizante!”

I was unsure of what they were saying until I was shot in the neck with a tranquilliser. I passed out and when I woke up I had an aching pain in my neck. My head was spinning and my heart was thumping so loudly in my chest that I thought it might tear out of my body.

My emotions began to escalate “ Ahh ahh ahhhhhhhh!” A small mirror (at the edge of the dark, isolated space I was confined to) showed my eyes flashing purple and red. At that point I didn’t care, even though I was to young to understand what was happening, I flicked my wrist and the wall exploded into millions of tiny pieces. I lifted myself off of the ground and flew off into the cold, chilling air.

The first place I thought to go was to my family, however when I arrived no one was there. Being so small I chose to sit in the corner of the apartment and cry until I was found. Hours later I heard a voice coming from the front door. “No I haven’t heard off of her, ... I know that she’s missing y-yes I will try to find her.” I recognised her voice.

“Scarlett, I-is that you!” My voice was wobbly and I could barely get the words out of my mouth. “Alice? Are you there?” Her voice cracked as she peeked around the corner to see me huddled there clutching my knees. “I-I found her!”
