Tomorrows too late

     Doomed to roam a burning darkness, desolation have we brought upon ourselves. We gave him power and he used it against us. The rise of the beast glorified by wonders unseen. Powers beyond the capability of our mind to comprehend. A god to the masses but few of us refused to submit. I had no idea the horrors that would befall us who would resist the fiery beast. In my worst nightmare I could not have imagined the hell ive seen. The deserts stained red from the blood of men and women beheaded for defying the beast and his prophet. What once were lush forests teeming with life and abundance posioned by rotting flesh. I was a veteran of the marine corps, a protector of the helpless and a single father. I knew things were getting bad, but that was six years ago. I would give anything to go back to 2028, any trace of the world I knew is gone. I just didnt think it would happen this fast. My kids disappeared right before the beast came on the scene. I was blinded by intense light and when my sight came back, they were gone. Its better off anyway. I wouldnt want them to see what I have seen. Aliens, bigfoot, mermaids, mothmen, even zombies would be better than the demons that lurk now. Somedays I wish this mountain would collapse on me and end my suffering. I have seeked death and could not find it. I trust no one. There are what looks like normal people but when the sun goes down they are sent out to find others like me. The darkness changes them. Creatures standing 15 feet tall, ten twisted horns and eyes blazing like a thousand suns. Ash like scales and black as night underneath. Smoke rising from the depth of thier demonic bodies. They growl a deep tone that hurts your ears. You dont even know who is human anymore. I have to avoid people and I am constantly being hunted by someone or something. A few years back someone told me of something that could change the world. Something that could bring peace back to the earth and make things better. I have been on a journey to find this heart shaped lockett that contains the power to set things right again and defeat the beast. Ive been told it has more power than all the demons and even the leader and his prophet combined. If you are reading this, I dont know I am still alive but I hope someone will have found that lockett. They say it is silver and has an engraving on it that says 2 thess. I dont know what that means and I dont know what it contains but......

    "Hey mom, can you watch me on the slide?"

"Just let me finish reading this."

"What is it ?"

"Its a journal but it looks to be written from the future. Its about a guy looking for a heart shaped lockett."

Thats when i looked down at the heart shaped lockett around my neck. It is silver and engraved with 2 thess on it. Its a lockett that came from my grandma and she always told me that this lockett held the key to salvation in a time that will be hell on earth. Ive never been able to open it though. Its like its been sealed shut. I wonder if this is just a story or is it really a letter from the future. Wait.... the lockett just opened. It is a cross. What is that supposed to mean?

"What is this bright light?"

"Jamie... Jamie.... where are you"?

The letter was true and I missed it. I was too late.

      Could this be true or just conspiracy, open our blind eyes and let us see. Before its to late, come in to our lives and change our destiny. Save us from this prison and break our chains. Come into our lives and set us free....
