science fiction
The bridge between imagination and technological advancement, where the dreamer’s vision predicts change, and foreshadows a futuristic reality. Science fiction has the ability to become “science reality”.
'The Void Within' Chapter 1
"Looking through history, the tendency becomes to view humanity as a single organism, ebbing and flowing together and towards goals that, at the time impossible to see, become visible to the historian viewing the actions of a population through the lenses of passed time. Still, look closely enough and one finds, without fail, moments where the energies of humanity intersect and therefore hinge on the actions of single individuals."—Excerpt from The Coalition Days, by Herman Setart

Anahata (Ch. 5)
As I sit here, stitching up my side with a rusted needle and old thread, I can't help but think about the words of Shaman, my mentor. She always said that we only get one soul and that many people spend their lives focusing on their bodies while neglecting their souls. I never really understood what she meant until now, as I find myself trapped in this foreign body, struggling to maintain my sense of self.

'Blake's 7: The Spoils of War'—Review
It's been quite a while since Big Finish actually put out any Blake's 7 content. Since the sad passing of Gareth Thomas, Big Finish has had to try and work around this, and since Josette Simon has decided not to return to Blake's 7, Big Finish were in a tight bind. However, producer John Ainsworth decided to recast Dayna anyway, and continue with full-cast audios set during the third season of the TV show. The Spoils of War is the first box set under the new regime, and, while it does have a couple of issues, it is a decent set, with some fairly good stories and an interesting linking theme. It certainly helps that the recast of Dayna is possibly one of the best things that Big Finish have done with Blake's 7, and promises exciting things for the future.

Divisible (Ch. 2) [NSFW]
I lie beside the Head, frozen in trauma. Had it minutes or hours since he finally rolled off me? It was traditional for the Head of House to sleep with their concubine the night of the ceremony. There were three of us, though, so we were taking turns over three days. I volunteered first. He took it for enthusiasm, but I just wanted to get it over with.

Divisible (Ch. 1)
ONE My mother affixed sprigs of baby's breath to my hair piece in between the carnations. I stared at myself transforming, being decorated like a Christmas tree or a seven-layer cake. The makeup was thin and gritty, a homemade blush made of powered beet root and flour, a lighter shade applied sparingly to the lower lids of my eyes and along the brow line. Nail polish was banned, so we decided on lace gloves to cover my dirt-encrusted fingers that were never completely clear of soil and mulch fibers.

Game of Mass Destruction - Prologue
“Human beings are social animals. What brings us together is love and affection—anger drives us apart. Just as we employ physical hygiene to protect our health, we need emotional hygiene, the means to tackle our destructive emotions, if we are to achieve peace of mind.” - Dalai Lama

Life and Production S3 E12: Blast II
Snow and soot combined to make ashen clumps which collected outside of the hall. The flash grenades only caused a fire which the fire robots sought to extinguish. Pandemonium ensued upon the first detonation of the explosives. It appeared as if all of the occupants had exited the premises safely. But there was still no word on Pappy, Preston, and Symphony. Trevor and Saffron Lesane huddled behind a cart which was prepared to issue food items for the banquet after the presentation. Now, it served as an impromptu clinical apparatus to address the scrapes and bruises that some of the laureates and audience members sustained. Though not a physician, or a doctor of any kind, Lesane could identify and administer aid to those with injuries. Lesane dealt with his wife’s ankle, ensuring that it was not sprained or broken. “I think it’s sprained,” he said.

The laureates of the Dr. Marie Maynard Daly Prize convened on a snowy evening in February. From sculpture to martial arts to dance and poetry, the prizes represented the best in each recipient and inspired onlookers. For the prizes in medicine and business, only one name arose above all others: Trevor Lesane. As far as mathematics were concerned, the central figure in the Daly Prize committee’s selection process had to be Saffron Lesane. “For her extraordinary work in educating students,” Saffron was said to be “the chief developer in building the mathematical minds of tomorrow.” At least that is what the placard read. It could hardly describe the exemplary efforts of Dr. Saffron Lesane. This pair accepted the honor of receiving prizes as the first husband and wife to claim the Daly Prize in the same year. The Lesanes also received the notice via a videophone message that they had been selected for the prizes. Each laureate acquired the invitation to the ceremony in December. A feat this year, Lesane’s dual laurels represented what was possible when excellence was applied to every endeavor.

Home? (Chapter 14)
Thousand eyes are staring at me. I don't know what to do. Should I step forward and call them, make them notice me? They have already seen me enter and I'm scared I won't be able to turn back. I don't say anything for a while, everything seems surrounded by a cloud of silence that is impossible to break, and it makes me uncomfortable. The eyes don't blink, they simply watch me quietly, undecided. Am I an enemy, an intruder? Or am I a trustworthy individual? So as to not cause any undesired response, I remain as still and quiet as possible and my breathing seems to be the only thing betraying the silence. However, standing there for several minutes without moving proves to be a harder task than I had anticipated. I finally decide to go ahead and call them out. Why are you here and should I be here?

Finer Tactics To the cuticle, her nails were groomed with precision and care. Aqua blue and neon orange paint covered them. Both manicures and pedicures were financed with the support of her intricate heroin empire. Quintasia Batt, a 23-year-old impresaria held the Northeast Atlantic in the grip of her hand. She headed her company with the wit and tenacity usually reserved for military generals. Quintasia mastered the game of persuasion and the finer tactics in conversing with possible business partners. One such prospect was Trevor Lesane.
