science fiction
The bridge between imagination and technological advancement, where the dreamer’s vision predicts change, and foreshadows a futuristic reality. Science fiction has the ability to become “science reality”.
God, Engineering, and Design
The huge man lunged off his barstool and, with a roar, swung a hard right that connected with Jason’s jaw, sending him flying across the nearest table with a resounding crash. Jason shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs from his brain and stars from his eyesight. His ears roared, and his shoulder ached from his impact with the table and, subsequently, the floor. Finally, able to focus again, Jason heaved himself to his feet and braced himself for the next onslaught. No sooner than he set himself, the big man launched a kick at his groin and connected solidly with Jason’s testicles. Nauseating waves of pain overwhelmed Jason’s brain, and he slipped quickly and with only one moan, off into dreamland.

The Apocalypse is Always Tomorrow: Bad Robot | Part 2
CONTINUED FROM PART ONE “A strategic attack from all directions and multiple altitudes could lock AbelBody into a cylindrical firing range with no escape...but death!” Some fancy military guy with a bunch of stripes and stars and bars and medals and badges said. With great atmosphere and ambience, the barrel chested war hero threw the oval office into a fury of hope.

Calculation 300
Johnathon is flowing to classic rock music as he is vigorously working towards the solution of his quantum physics theory. With a pair of micro tweezers, he tightens the last screw on the device. Johnathon triple checks his test calculation, number 299, and looks over his checklist protocol. He agrees that all looks well and proceeds to flip switch one. A barely audible buzz begins, showing a good sign. Johnathon takes a deep breath. He flips the 2nd switch feeling the device is warming up properly, signally a positive conclusion to the test. The device now begins to shake uncontrollably as Johnathon starts to yell expletives. The device is smoking, erupting a small fire. He runs to the fire extinguisher, pulls the nozzle, and dissolved the flames. Agitated and disgusted by yet another trial failure Johnathon slumps into his chair.

Even on the Ground
From the 50’s through the 2000’s-era, predictive descriptions of the future included the invention of “flying cars”. It was a pervasive bit of nonsense which revolved around the assumption that the giants of the automotive industry would produce the airborne vehicles that are now ubiquitous. Although this irritating misnomer cum cultural phenomena spanned decades, it’s now just a footnote, a “fun fact” for those of us who exist in a present which was, to the population of said footnote, the future. So when our teachers, the ones not quite drained of their will to attempt humor in their virtual lessons, share this factoid with a knowing shake of the head, we also allow ourselves a small smirk. For we, as citizens of the future, are in on the joke: Did the existence of planes just not register?

Lelouch and Light (WORLD PEACE)
The name is Light Yagami, aka Kira; there is no need for much introduction. Some call me an anti-hero, and others call me a villain. Tales of my egotistical heroism resound throughout the entire world along with the power of my small black notebook or, in other words, the Death Note, killing anyone whose name gets written in the book. I am an anime character, and I know it, but hey, who knows which of our realities is real? It is all perspective, especially if you’re the main character. Still, long story short, I got a tragic end as Kira, the one who kills the criminal, dictator, and pure evil. The issue was that some saw me as a savior and others as a murderer with a God complex-shame, for I am Kira, the savior!

The First Chapter
Jeff Gomez settled back into the plush comfortable drivers seat of his brand new red convertible smart car. Her name was Melody. She was, hands down, by far, the most amazing piece of technology he had ever experienced. Jeff grinned as he watched the storm he was being driven through. A wicked gusting sheet of crystallized rain buffeted the car. For a moment, the world was blurred away as all of the windows were covered in a sheet of ice. "What's the weather Mel?"

The Tesseract
Nobody but Phil Watterson felt so angry to see his bank account increase by $20,000. Two weeks ago, to battle a crisis of getting old, Phil’s father went skydiving. He landed gracefully and his testimony was the experience was exhilarating. Three days later, he died by tripping in the shower. It didn’t matter to the insurance agent that his death was unrelated to skydiving. All he saw was that a retired client went skydiving three days before his death, and that was enough excuse to cut his life insurance down from $200 trillion to a mere $20,000.

Drog
I want to tell you how it started, but first, some backstory... “Grant!” I called down into the pit. It was all that remained of the Murphy home, the pit - after the aliens came and took it. Not a common thing, this taking of houses. No one knew why. But when it happened there was opportunity to scavenge. I’d known Grant since the 7th grade, and though we were never good friends, there was at least familiarity, so we worked together rummaging and making some money. Not big money, mind you, but you never knew what you were going to find.
