Review of 'Project Blue Book' 2.1
The pulpy science fiction that is Project Blue Book was back on the History Channel last Tuesday for the debut of its second season. I was kidnapped by a UFO so didn't get a chance to watch and review until now -- no, only kidding, I was really up in Boston last Tuesday, for a radio show in which my new album Welcome Up: Songs of Space and Time was debuted. That's true -- listen to this -- and I promise everything else I say in this review will be true, at least as far as I know it.

John Barrowman Causes Internet Meltdown With Epic "Doctor Who" Return
Jodie Whittaker’s second series as the Thirteenth Doctor is settling in nicely and shaping to be an action-packed series. With us now halfway through Series 12, it appears Chibnall has learned from previous mistakes, built upon those mistakes and added a unique vision on the way.

Maniac: The Sympathetic Sci-Fi
In 2018, Netflix released an ambiguous trailer about two individuals that volunteer themselves to undergo a pharmaceutical testing trial. What made this sci-fi preview interesting was it had something to offer. There were tense images of what was to become of these characters we haven't met yet, what made them want to be here, the ending of the trailer had Emma Stone dressed in a 1920's outfit. That was a unique twist to keep my intrigue, and I anticipated what questions would be answered when I watched it.

Review: 'Star Trek Short Treks' 2-4 & 2-5
After three live action vignettes, the second set of Short Treks presents a double bill of animated shorts, the first animated Star Trek episodes for forty-five years. It's surprising that the franchise hasn't explored the animated medium more often. After all, it's much easier to create alien life forms, spectacular ships and strange new worlds in cartoon form than live action. However, while Star Trek: The Animated Series has experienced a reassessment in recent years, it's long had a poor reputation, and this has likely put the blocks on animated Trek for years.

Steven Moffat's Writing for 'Doctor Who' at Christmas Is Enchanting, Here's Why
Doctor Who at Christmas is everyone’s favourite thought. Well, until 2018 that was when the show dematerialised from its usual Christmas Day slot and moved to New Year’s Day instead. Every year (well, most years) since the show was revived back in 2005 by Russell T. Davies, the show has produced a whopper of a series followed by a festive special, all of which taking a different tone. There’s been a giant spider, which helped formed planet Earth, dream crabs, talking ‘cactuses’ (cacti?) and so much more.

'Doctor Who': "It Takes You Away" Review
Warning: Potential spoilers for the episode ahead. Since its on-screen regeneration in 2005, Doctor Who in the 21st-century has had many things that separate it from its 20th-century incarnation. One of the biggest, introduced by Russell T Davies nearly 15 years ago, was wrapping the series' science fiction plots inside more substantial emotional stories. Even with him vacating the showrunner chair in 2010, it's something that the series hasn't quite shaken off, much to its credit at times. One such recent example came with the penultimate episode of Series 11.
