In the Caverns of the Sky
"Well if it isn't another doomed princess tossed into the abyss." Vol was leaning back on her craggy perch, legs swinging over the edge. She was looking at a young woman, walking through the open air, as though on a tightrope--slow and deliberate. They were in a cavern of immense proportions--hundreds of leagues across, unfathomable depths below. Before them, the earth opened its jaws to the sky.

Halcyon Station
Pilot "Denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy & peaceful." Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say, they've never had the comfort of a digital oxygen mask. To live a digital life. To be born within a world and have the option of either ascension or damnation. To choose at a mature age, join your family and society, or stay in a world with no future - derived of paranoia and fear. To have access to a never-ending plane of possibility, everything safe, and orderly, and routine.

You are my Eyes.
Becoming at one with your Owl you close your eyes and trust implicitly that your owl will connect, they don’t just teach how to listen, they teach you how to listen to the tone in the words spoken to you , the vibration of energy will become more important than sight. They teach you to understand body movements, your subtle facial expressions. To interpret silences. Helping you to hear everything not said in words.

A Story of Happiness
It's too late for Christmas, but I wanted to give everybody here on Vocal a big gift of happiness for the holidays. Here's some real, observable happiness that you can apply to your life in anyway that you like. You can laugh at it; you can scoff at it. You can troll it. You can hate it. You can object to it. You can call it, and me, nasty names. You can seriously question my credentials and whether I have any right to be talking about stuff like this. (I don't; that's why I called it fiction.) But it remains a fact, that this piece of writing is a piece of happiness that was generated by the consciousness field in my brain, just for you people. I enjoyed writing it, and I enjoyed sharing it, and it is real happiness made by me for you. I hope it gives you as much pleasure to receive it as it does me to give it.

I Just Had To
Part 1: Before Home I’ve never been alone. Even as a vignette I was surrounded by scientists in a lab. They would spend their time learning about us and arguing about who knew more. There were also people in grey overalls who would help us by giving us water, changing the art in the room, and talking to us. I used to wish they could understand what we were saying. They were better than the scientists in my opinion. When my triad was abloom, I was moved to a room with warm lamps and threads of all lengths. Once a month, a person who did not work in the lab would come in accompanied by someone in grey overalls and pick one of us to leave. We would all be excited to see one of the kind workers, but the other people were usually annoying. They would look around and call us pretty or they would make their voice high and ask us questions as if they could understand our answer.

What is Epic Fantasy Literature?
Wizards, dragons, and elves! Oh, My! Let's face it, as an adult or child, we all wanted to fly on the back of a dragon or destroy the evil wizard. Some of us wished we could save Fantasia with Falcor. Still, in the end, reality hits, and we're back in our crazy world devoid of imagination, magic, and dragons. While a case can be made for dragons and magic, our best chance of living the fantasy life is by delving into books. Those are fantasy or epic fantasy.

Magic and Mayhem: Wizards in Epic Fantasy Novels
As a fantasy author, magic has taken the primary stage in life and my imagination. I grew up reading Dragonlance novels and authors like Saberhagen, Moorcock, and others. Movies like Excaliber with Merlin, Conan, and The Neverending Story fueled my imagination as a kid and continued as an adult. I've played Dungeons & Dragons and went on to create a whole new world for my fantasy stories: Aria, the World of Twilight. The one thing that stands out is the magic and the wizards, both men and women, elf and human alike, wielding its immense power.
