It means that some of us, individuals hidden In the shelter system, people who for many can be ‘disposable’, we have become the newest recipients of the close examination by countless academics, students, and medical staff, to test drive some new technologies including ‘mind therapy and control via cellular waves’; the intrusive ‘Health App’ and all of its data gathering tools; as well as the capacity of transforming the brain into Quantum machines with the facade of addiction that some of us have been told we have while been procured periodically with Crystal Meth or methamphetamine, a sort of chemical formulation that turns our bodies into vessels that travel in a variety of ways to test extreme scenarios for real life application.

The Old Neighborhood

A Day 100 Years from Now
Alarm rings I wake up, stretch, get out of bed and look at my old digital voice activated calendar appearing on the wall. The year is 2118. I just had a great sleep in my weightless pod. It's filled with pure oxygen. I take my synthetic pills for my meals of the day. They are the best way to get nutritional essentials as all food sources are in very low supply. I follow it with a triple filtered ecofriendly drink. It contains many of the nutrients my body needs. Then I shower with an echo friendly coconut spray.

The Golden Goddess and The Silver Serpent
Within the lands of Athánion, located on the northern end of Unan, lie two lakes. Lake Argentum, the smaller of the two lakes, shines with a silvery shimmer on its surface, which seems to get brighter when the moon occupies the night sky. Lake Aurum glows with a golden glimmer spanning the body of water, keeping a delicately warm temperature year round. The unusual coloring of these lakes could be attributed to mineral deposits from the surrounding area, but local folklore tells a different tale.

The Change
The people with power, money and status hoped things would return to normal. But the pandemic lasted too long.
