fact or fiction
Is it science fact or science fiction? Futurism presents both sides to determine the truth.
Moksha
Sound, like all forms of energy, creates a detectable vibration in the physical realm when the correct tools of measurement are utilised. I sat, cross-legged on the floor in my finest crimson dress, mesmerised by the throbbing of the speakers. The rest of the wedding guests were dancing around me, seemingly oblivious. I was used to being overlooked, but for the first time, I decided that I was okay with it. They were missing the greatest show on Earth – this pulsating symbol of un-manifest movement - and their ignorance did not make it any less magnificent.

a kindness
Ethan had the dream again last night. In the dream, he always sits by the window, gazing out across a forest. The wind gently eases through the distant trees. The fingers of his right hand are curled around a pen, poised over a little black notebook — but before he can look down to see what he’s written, he wakes up.

The Choice You Make
He awoke from what felt like a recurring nightmare with the sound of the roof of his house collapsing before him. A reverse dive from the pool of sweat he’d made for himself, he sat up in bed in terror and confusion, staring in disbelief at the pile of the now-moulded material having crumbled in its ability to shield him from the earth. For the earth was not worthy as a home itself, he’d spent endless time, thought, and money into building something that would protect him from the very source of which he was made – the 4 walls creating an illusion of disconnection from nature itself. It seemed as though overnight his house was no longer the luxury, well-kept, gadget ridden bachelor pad he had proudly and heavily identified with.

Tenfold
Max wasn’t particularly well-off; at twenty-four, he held a basic job in information technology and lived in an equally basic, one-bedroom apartment just outside the darker part of the city. He’d moved from his hometown right after graduation to attend University and had finished his degree in the requisite four years with just slightly above average grades. He didn’t own a wealth of possessions, but he was comfortable and proud to own a mid-sized television, a relatively new computer and, he was saving up to purchase a good condition, used vehicle. His life was by no means fancy, but perfectly average instead.

Never Make A Wish During A Full Moon
“Screw it…", said Celeste, as she held up the black tinted Champagne glass with gold finish around the rim filled topped with bubbling pink champagne, the condensation slowly running down her matte purple painted fingernails.

Book of Infinite Wisdom
Genevieve gently blew the dust off the little black book that lay on the shelf of the old bookstore on Rue d'Orchampt, one of the narrowest streets in Paris. She had spent years and the entirety of the $20,000 grant she had received from the University of Cambridge for her Archeology research in her quest for these fragile, weathered pages. This estranged book once belonged to her great-grandmother—the infamous witch of Giverny, a small village on the border of Normandy. She was a famous Jewess in folklore who had been trained in transmutational magic and astral travelling by the Elders of Enoch that had lived in the village for centuries.

The Night-watch Demon
My world as I knew it was over and I was banished to this new world being the only one of my kind. There was a war going on between the realms of demons and night-watchers (who captured demons that left their realm) and would banish them back into oblivion. The war seemed like it would never end and us night-watchers would have prospered as we always do. But Hero, as the demons refer to their king was different than the rest. Hero used to be a night-watcher but one day changed him and he knew how to overpower the night-watchers. He was ruthless and unstoppable, and my family feared only for my safety. My father and mother were the best night-watchers ever, but they too had their limits. Before I was banished my mother gave me a little black book and said when I land, I will find what I am looking for. I didn’t understand what she meant, with all the chaos going on and my world crumbling but, in her eyes, there was hope. Hope for me. And here I am standing in this mortal world with nothing but this black book. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened it, didn’t know if it was a key to another dimension but I knew there would be answers. Looking around my surroundings this world seemed rather boring, compared to the mountain towers and rivers that flowed between my realm, but I guess this is how mortals lived. It was nightfall when I descended from the sky, so I knew that I was not noticed but my senses were still on alert. One can never be too careful when it comes to a world one does not know.
