God Served Me Tea At California’s Trippiest Festival
Jon lifted a nebulous green crystal to my face. “Stare into it,” he said. “It will transport you to another universe.” A handful of people huddled at a low table, shoulders wrapped in woven pashminas. The cream-colored drapes of the tent hung around them. Some sat on the ground, others on small pillows. Many had chemically altered perceptions and flying saucer eyes to match. The neon cobweb tablecloth was covered with gems and minerals in a dazzling variety of hues, leaving barely enough space for the tiny glass tea cups.

Will Star Wars Celebration Be Moved To 2023? D23 Taking Place Just Weeks After Celebration 2022!
Disney’s D23 Expo is one of the major conventions that lots of people look forward to attending. A biennial event, it was originally scheduled to take place again at the Anaheim Convention Center in the summer of 2021. However, the originally scheduled dates for certain things have been sketchy in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officially time goes forward second by second, minute by minute and hour by hour. There are claims it differs in space and in vacuums, but I am only concerned about here on earth. We have all experienced the vagaries of time and how it moves in the real world. We have also found how the movement of time depends on location, problem, and the relationship with others and how their time flows.

Interview with Mike Resnick
At 74 years old, Mike Resnick is only hitting his stride. Just last week he handed in the eighth book he wrote this year, and he has clocked in 13 short stories and just sold a fantasy trilogy to DAW Publishing. He has mentored countless authors, including Nebula award nominee Martin Shoemaker and is the recipient of five Hugos (from a record 37 nominations) and is first on the Locus list of all-time award winners, living or dead, for short fiction, and is fourth on the list of Science Fiction's all-time top award winners in all fiction categories. Resnick is also the editor of Galaxy's Edge, one of the field's leading magazines.

“Pioneering is never done in front of cheerleaders urging on a roaring grandstand of popular approval.” Star Trek legend George Takei speaks to a generation science fiction pioneers all over the world. Since it's creation, sci-fi fans have bound together as a tight-knit collective, sharing ideas and theories. Organizations like The Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society bring together science fiction's biggest fans to review past and present genre favorites. LASFS is the longest continually running science fiction club in the world. Founded in 1934 as a charter group of the Science Fiction League, it has endured World War II, the LA riots, the shifting tides of fan culture, and the death of its most active member and cheerleader, fandom legend Forest J Ackerman. Forest J Ackerman is an American magazine editor, science fiction writer and literary agent. From its current home base in Van Nuys, California, the LASFS hosts weekly meetings, and keeps an impressive lending library of science fiction materials. One of my favorite Internet spelunking journeys is to go deep, deep into the LASFS' rigorously complete photo archives, which document conventions, readings, and meetings of science fiction fans and legends alike from over a 75-year history. With the blessing of the LASFS, here are some of our favorites.
