Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say.
Thank God for the written word, I guess. What is it they say? “It’s harder to silence a pen than a sniper rifle”? Yes, I know that’s not actually it. I just needed a better hook than that lame pen vs sword thing. Oh shit, there I go, my mind getting way off course. This thought to text technology is still so difficult for me, as a person whose mind always seems to be going a million miles a minute. Fuck, I’m doing it again… Ok, let’s start over.
If you are currently reading this, it’s because it was meant to find you. I hate how cliché this is going to sound, but I can’t figure out how else to put it. I am communicating with you from the future. I’m sure that statement has already filled your mind with questions. “When in the future?” “How did you get this into the past?” “Um, anyone could read this. You expect me to believe that it’s somehow (insert finger quotes here) meant for ME?” Yeah yeah, I know. Sounds real crazy, don’t it? But the thing is, just because just about anybody could read this, that doesn’t mean that everybody will. And here’s the other thing, I’m going to need many to receive this message.
Not to be dramatic, but… the fate of the human species could depend on who hears it, and what they choose to do with the information. As for the former two questions, don’t worry about that yet. There is so much to say, and I need to do my best to deliver this information in the proper order, and in appropriate amounts. If we’re not careful, your mind may fill too quickly with knowledge, and brain explosion will be imminent. Now you’re probably wondering if that’s true; probably annoyed as fuck that I would even say something like that. Or maybe you are one of the Receivers who will be terribly alarmed at any possibility of that actually being a thing. If you are of the first group, that’s great. We need Receivers who are skeptical, and who are hesitant to believe anything they’re told without first getting more information. And if you are one of the others, that’s good, too. Caution and a healthy amount of fear are pertinent to survival.
If you are still with me at this point, congratulations. You may officially accept the responsibility of: RECIEVER
This is what I will refer to you as from here on out. You can call me whatever you want, I’m not gonna know about it anyway. Which, speaking of, sounds like a good place to start with the need to know of your role, Receiver. This is a one-way communication; you won’t be able to deliver any kind of message back to me. But if you do heed to what I tell you, I will know. There will be evidence of it in my time.
The next thing is a rule. Well...maybe more of a suggestion. You do have free will, after all. But I strongly suggest that you do not relay any of this information to other humans of your time. You may and should however, express what you are learning and feeling to any other type of animal. If you happen to be living waaay back in a timeline where you’ve been taught to believe this is impossible, you really should give it a try. Keep trying, if you’re up for the challenge. It’s never too early to begin the stages of bringing telepathic communication back to commonplace, again. (Yep, AGAIN. If you think telepathy is impossible, it is only because you’ve forgotten how). Once you have finished learning all that I’ve sent for you to receive, go ahead and tell whoever you want to about it. It’s just better if you absorb all information possible on this matter before you go and try to give any of it to another human, believe me. Or don’t. Like I said before: FREE WILL, BABY!
Which is actually a great segue into the next thing that you should know. It is always your choice on whether or not to accept your appellation of Receiver. It will never be an obligation. You can call it quits at any time. You also have as much time as you need to finish this. It’s going to be a whole lot to take in, after all. Hell, put this down and pick it back up later, if you need to. The most important thing is: You need to be ready and willing to accept, in order to Receive.

I love it!! I really hope that the story will continue, how am I going to know what to do if communications don’t continue?! I want to be a receiver!!! (I may have some bias to the author, but I really, truly am excited and impressed by this story. It drew me in and left me wanting much more!)
