'Star Trek: Discovery' Will Klingon To Ex-Showrunner Bryan Fuller's Ideas Even Though He Beamed Up For A New Enterprise
When Bryan Fuller, the creative mind behind Pushing Daisies, Hannibal and American Gods, stepped down as the showrunner for Star Trek Discovery in October 2016, there were concerns about whether the show had lost power to its rear thrusters. Would it still bear the marks of its creator, or would everything Fuller had written be reimagined?

Get your Kessel running shoes on, because Disney's Han Solo looks to be back on track and ready to fire a proton torpedo into the exhaust port of its haters. 'Han' On A Minute: George Lucas Nearly Cast A Black Han Solo In Star Wars
Starting life as a scruffy-looking nerfherder from Corellia, Han Solo has certainly been on quite a journey since his arrival in Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. As one of the most famous characters in the history of cinema, can you imagine anyone other than #HarrisonFord playing #HanSolo in the original #StarWars trilogy? While we know that #AldenEhrenreich will portray a younger version of the cocky captain in Disney's anthology spin-off, it turns out that things could've been very different for the original Han. As it turns out, #HarrisonFord wasn't always the first choice for the role and we nearly had a very different smug smuggler.

Exploring The Seven Kling-Doms: 'Game Of Thrones' Influenced 'Star Trek: Discovery' And Now No One Is Safe
Death comes to us all, especially in the land of television, but nowhere is it more prevalent than on HBO's Game of Thrones. In the time before Thrones butchered all and sundry, most TV spectacles were reserved for the odd big death that had us reaching for the tissues. From Charlie on LOST to George O'Malley on Grey's Anatomy, Adriana on The Sopranos and Maude Flanders on The Simpsons, death was a big shocker from which we thankfully had time to recuperate.

Whether planned or not, the ominous title for #RianJohnson's upcoming #StarWars film seemingly spells doom for someone in the dwindling Jedi population. Cue internet trawling to decipher what on Earth the title could mean: Does it signal the demise of #LukeSkywalker, the training of Rey, or even the return of Yoda? The Last Jedi will keep us guessing right up until December 15.

Sony Triggers The End Of The World By Bringing To Life The Red Queen From 'Resident Evil'
Reach for a change of panties because #SonyPictures may have just triggered the end of the world. In anticipation of the upcoming #ResidentEvil: The Final Chapter, the studio has created an AI of their homicidal computer the Red Queen. Ever since she said "you're all going to die down here," I knew I never liked that punk-face bitch. Why on Earth anyone would bring to life a bloodthirsty supercomputer is beyond me, but it screams Orwellian disaster waiting to happen. Creepy kids are enough in films, let alone when they are AIs that you then bring to life. It's a big loada "nope" from me!

'Metropolis' Turns 90: Rare Behind The Scenes Photos Show The Science Behind Science-Fiction
Since in 2017 we are used to Jon Watts giving us moving Spidey eyes, or Gareth Edwards CGI'ing Peter Cushing's face onto a Holby City actor, it is easy to see how we take the advances in modern cinema for granted. Heading back 90 years, and ushering in the the start of the #scifi genre as one of the most influential films ever, how does 1927's Metropolis look nine decades later? #FritzLang's German expressionist classic has seemingly stood the test of time, and as the grandfather of the genre, has gone on to influence everything from Blade Runner to Star Wars, and even Madonna. It is hard to imagine a world without #Metropolis which is a shame, as even after all these years, we have only ever managed to restore 95% of Lang's original.

Snoke And Mirrors: 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Won't Give Us Any Answers About Supreme Leader Snoke
Prepare your disappointed faces, because #StarWars is letting us down (again). Don't worry, they aren't bringing back Jar Jar Binks, but we might have to wait a little longer to unravel one of the franchise's newest mysteries. The ghostly specter of Supreme Leader Snoke hung over Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, and with Emperor Palpatine bowing out in Return of the Jedi, it looks like Snoke is pulling the strings as the galaxy's latest puppet master.

You're Taking The Kiss: China Cuts Gay Kiss For Censored 'Alien: Covenant'
Nowadays men can hold hands, share apartments, and maybe even sometimes beds *gasp*, so in 2017, you don't expect the issue of sexuality to be much of a problem in cinema. Shows like Game of Thrones thrive on their sexual promiscuity, while Westworld not only gave us a toothy man on man BJ, but a three-minute orgy. Hollywood is packed with gay stars, while Brokeback Mountain is not just remembered for two men getting it on in a tent, but as a damn good film!
