The Absurdly Curious Story of Michael Staats Chapter Three
“I demand that you tell me what you know at once!” shouted Michael for what Conrad felt was about the thirtieth time. “As I have said before,” Conrad replied pleasantly, refusing to allow Michael to provoke a rise in anger out of him, “If you don’t already realize it, then you will eventually figure it out. If you do realize what’s going on, then you are deeply in denial, which is to be expected considering you lived your entire life in denial.”

For Every Human in the United States
I’ve come to the conclusion that climate change happens all over the planet, not just at home in the United States. The Australian Great Barrier reef is constantly affected by climate problems. The Gobi Desert in Northern China may have rare animals such as snow leopards, and Bactrian Camels, (two-humped camels), but the desert keeps growing.

Growth
I started off small. A see-through, fragile, self equipt machine awaiting my command. I was alone in the dark, and my surrounding was moist, but it was also soft, so I felt secure. Two, four, six, eight seconds passed and I began to shake. My sides began to stretch out; slowly and delicately like a piece of gum. My insides hardened while my exterior collapsed and it was then and there that I accepted my fate. As I relaxed, my whole being vibrated with energy. With each inhale my body would let out a pop that signaled a new beginning. The pops now occurred faster and faster. I was growing. No, I was multiplying. Yes, that seems to describe it better. I was multiplying now at full speed and my being was on fire.

Soil Destruction
Soil degradation means that soil is not being used to its fullest potential for agricultural use. (Source) This is because soil degradation is becoming a massive problem on this planet. The soil is a fundamental national resource, as the basis for all life on this planet. There is a huge problem on this planet right now with soil management on the forefront. The problem is a decline in soil fertility. There is also a problem with erosion as well as adverse changes in salinity. Water, wind, salinity, loss of organic matter, and more are the cause of soil problems. This can happen in other countries besides the United States.

Heaven's Entryway (Part 1)
They say that when you die, usually your life flashes before your eyes. Would I fast forward through all my memories or feel an overwhelming sense of love? Could all we imagine death to be just a lie? Perhaps it's more like the lights going out and boom—instant blackness. Is death just absolutely nothing?

Kathryn Janeway
When Star Trek: Voyager aired in 1995, it was unique amongst the Star Trek universe. Firstly, it was the first series to feature a starring Native American character (Commander Chakotay,) the first half-human/half-Klingon (B'Elanna Torres,) but most importantly, it was the first to feature a starring female captain.

Groundwater Depletion
Groundwater depletion is a growing problem on this planet today. It comes from, as usual, humans overusing their ability to draw groundwater out of our environment. Surface water is not always easily accessed in the United States. Groundwater is the source of drinking water for half the total population and nearly all of the rural population. (Source) Groundwater depletion simply means that excessive of groundwater is a key situation that needs to be addressed more. Groundwater depletion will create wells that dry up since waters and lakes have less water in it when the water is siphoned. The water quality is not as good as it needs to be because there are increases in pumping costs when there is a sinking in the earth's surface.
