'Doctor Who': Revisiting "The Web of Fear"
Five years. It was just five years ago that "The Web of Fear" was one of several mostly wiped stories featuring Patrick Troughton's Doctor. Dramatically, and seemingly overnight, that changed. The serial, which had gained an almost legendary status during the nearly five decades since its broadcast, had, alongside its proceeding story "The Enemy of the World" turned up in Nigeria. Though its third episode was (and remains) missing, it offered fans the opportunity to see it again. Could it live up to expectations set by decades of hype?

Know It All
I was sitting in class when it happened... It was supposed to be a good day... I was supposed to go home and celebrate my mom’s birthday... I was never afraid of anything as much as I was afraid of myself in that moment... It was supposed to be a good day.

Keep Calm, Eh? Pt 3
“Hey, can I get a chicken shawarma wrap, with extra garlic sauce and pickled turnips please!” I love this place, Shawarma Emperor, serves the best Shawarma plate and wrap this side of the Atlantic. Terrible name though, no flair, doesn’t roll off the tongue, and it sounds like three other Shawarma places around the city! Downtown there’s Shawarma King, uptown is Emperor Shawarma, and in the industrial part of town a rinky-dink little food truck called Shawarma Lord rolls around.

Carriage Politics
The train creaked as it wound its way along the fresh tracks to Austin, Texas. Belching smoke from a metal chimney that burned to the touch, it had left Santa Fe this morning, under the haze of an exceedingly hot summer. The countryside around the railway looked bare and unpopulated, making the train look like a metal snake invading the otherwise undisturbed New World. Rolling hills melted into forests of struggling green as the train passed through land long since bereft of rainfall and wildlife. The sun was beginning to head towards a beautiful horizon, closing the late afternoon with its deep orange hue; the train trundled on.

Into the Nothing—Part 2
I woke up in the same room. The white walls, the heavy blanket. There was no other furniture in the room. I was going deaf from the silence. I turned my head a little bit more and saw a man standing behind the bed. His hands were on the metal and the metal was glowing red. He was staring at me, but seemed to be looking through me at the same time. I looked at bit closer into his eyes and saw that his pupils had bright red dots in their centers. They were the same color as the hot metal. I didn’t move. I wasn’t afraid, but I wasn’t comfortable either. My mind was very calm. I felt like I knew him but I knew I didn’t at the same time. The only familiar thing about him were the red dots. They were the only part of him looking at me.

The World Ended in Blue
Prologue When the Blue first showed up people were confused. No one blamed them though, the Blue was of the unknown and humanity feared things they didn’t know. That was something Audrey came to the conclusion of when she gazed up at the large ship in the sky. It was like the beings in there were taunting everyone.

'Doctor Who': "Max Warp" Review
Across more than a half-century of storytelling, Doctor Who has found time to homage and spoof a little bit of anything and everything. From Gothic tales like Frankenstein to British icons such as Quatermass and James Bond to a couple of semi-musical tales, there seems little the series can't do. So it comes as no surprise then that it found time a decade ago to spoof Top Gear, another venerable BBC franchise, via one of the Big Finish audio adventures.
