'Star Wars' Unveils Official Design of Leia Organa's Lightsaber
During the SDCC at-home panel co-hosted by Kristin Baver of Starwars.com and Lucasfilm Publishing's senior editor Robert Simpson, Lucasfilm Publishing unveiled several new book titles that continue the expansion of the Star Wars universe. The first book announced was The Lightsaber Collection. Several sites, including starwars.com, have since published images from the book.

Brain Database Uploads and Neurons versus Synthrons
Let's say that, in the future, one is able to upload you brain into some sort of backup similar to the way in which one stores a computer's information on a backup hard drive. The “back-up” copy of your brain should be the same as the intended “original” copy, otherwise, what would be the point of having this “back-up” brain? What if the contents of your brain, stored on this backup hard drive, was downloaded into two bodies simultaneously? More specifically, what if this backup information was downloaded into both a body living in Hawaii and the one intended for hard labor on Mars? The answer to this question is dependent on the nature of the technology used to perform this upload. If the upload is somehow affected by the simultaneity of the upload, there could be damage done to the software as it is uploaded, depending on how the data is transmitted. Imagine two people trying to stream Netflix on their devices using the same WIFI network. There may be moments where the show gets paused on one or both computers because streaming uses so much data and in the case where one is uploading a database contenting someone’s thoughts, it could cause small failures, or perhaps even a completely failed download.

'Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection' Features Ben Solo and Second Sister's Lightsabers
Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection is a visual guide that is set to be published by Insight Editions on October 20, 2020. It is written by Daniel Wallace and contains illustrations by Lukasz Liszko and Ryan Valle. It has been promised that this book would feature lightsabers from various Star Wars media, not just the films. Recently, Syfy reported on images (accompanied by descriptions) from pages of the book that have been unveiled, and The Direct focused on two of arguably the most interesting ones: Ben Solo’s lightsaber and the Second Sister’s lightsaber.

White-red streamers goosed my amygdala before evaporating in scratchy blobs of mental light. Clearly, I had had enough coffee for the evening. I moved away from the food window and the bell. I parked it at the end of the counter.
