Everyone Could Fly Everywhere!

Today we learned about how the civilization from before could build anything. Everyone could fly! They used 3D Printers and robots to build machines that helped them fly around the world or travel into space. Sometimes I think it's stupid to just sit around and learn about the past but these kinds of things are really fun to learn about. Elder Mai teaches us kids. She says knowledge is power. I always thought weapons and being a warrior were power. I don't know. I do love learning about machines and space. Maybe someday I can build something cool like they did back then. Elder Mai says she believes in me and that I have something called potential. I'm not sure what that means but Lawan says it's a good thing. Elder Mai says for my age I learn fast and I'm pretty good with my words for my age. She says one day it will really help me.

3D printers were everywhere back then. People found a way to recycle old materials and make new things out of them with their own 3D printers in their homes. Sometimes a robot or AI helped make what people needed. People made all kinds of things. They could make machine parts and wheels for cars and trucks. Everything! People could even make body parts and organs.

Back then people would build houses around the world or on other planets with 3D printers. Our tribe has two small 3d printers. They are not as cool as the ones we see in the archives but they are still pretty neat. We found some old computer systems that the warriors use to make their weapons. Scavengers make tools out of them too. They won't let me go near them but they say when I'm older I can try it out someday. It's really cool watching the machines work. We have a large one but it doesn't work anymore. Chief Onwai wants to keep it. He thinks we can fix and keep building with it. Some of our huts were made by the old bigger 3D printer we still have.

I saw a video of people who built things on the moon. Many robots and 3D printers built places to live up there. One time I saw a rocket take off to the moon. I think that's where they were going. I hear there are still people up there, but no one knows what it's like up there. I guess people hate it here so much they would like to leave the Punished Lands and take their chances with space. That's what I heard the warriors say. I hear there is no air in space or on the Moon or on Mars. Why would you go there then? I guess you need a suit. I think it would still be cool to go there. I hope to go there someday.

Back then people could travel into space to go to another part of Earth. Elder Mai told us that people would take family trips or visit each other by just buying tickets and flying into space to get where they wanted to go quicker. We also learned about the International Space Station. Sometimes you can see it floating up there. It looks really small from here on earth but I guess it's super big now. It was the first space station and only people who worked for a place called NASA could go there but later everyone could go there and stay. There are a few old stations floating around up there now. Sometimes people leave the Punished Lands to go up there too. I hear there is air on the stations or I think some of them do. I think the others are broken and no one can live on them anymore so they just float around in space.

On Earth people had their own flying machines. They were called cars and trucks that could travel on wheels or fly into the sky. All of them even had a robot or AI that helped them move around so a person didn't have to drive them. We see them or parts of them around the Punished Lands. Sometimes the scavengers take what they can find off of them and we use them back at home. I wish we could find one that still works and that isn't rusted or beat up.

We saw an old video of one of these cars that were using a new kind of tech. People were saying it would change the world. Elder Mai said they called it a prototype. It did something with the gravity. Which is all around us and keeps us from floating out into space. The machine parts and the engine of this car were really fast and it was supposed to be lighter. I guess they made a few machines like this before the Gods destroyed everything. Some of the people in the tribe think they used magic. Even Elder Mai says science and Magic are the same things.

The sky was filled with machines back then. Now I know what some of those weird structures in the sky were for. People traveled on these train things and something called Hyperloops. They were super fast. If people couldn't go up into the sky or outer space they would ride these machines and go anywhere around the world. They even had them in the oceans and Elder Mai says there are still old tunnels all over underground that people used to travel through them.

I really wish the Gods didn't destroy those people. It must have been really cool to talk to them. I really hope one day I can build things. Chief Onwai says I'm really creative. I like making tools. Some of the Scavengers have used some of the little tools I made. Well, I may go try and build something now. Elder Mai wants me to keep writing on this thing. She says it helps me learn and remember and that using what I draw also helps me. She says she wants to encourage me and to use this AI to take pictures of what I draw. She says one day someone could find it and learn about the world and what happened to everyone and it may be the only way they learn about everything. I'm glad she lets me draw but sometimes I hate writing. This thing always tells me what to spell right or how to type things. I hope I wrote enough for her today. I just want to draw and make things.
