Pandemic 2025: The After Math

No racism, No sexism, No agism. No isms at all, but yet, to keep in line with American values, EVERYONE has to be free, but keep in mind the phrase is "ESSENTIALLY FREE". How? Infrastructure is what we all came to call it. It was quite amazing. For everyone to be free or "essentially free", we the people decided to give up the ONE thing that we had been flirting with as a nation for generations. Our Privacy! Privacy is completely GONE.

If we wanted all the wrongs in the world to be righted all we had to do was give up our privacy. The slogans they came up with were phenomenal! "PRIVACY IS THE PRICE FOR A PERFECT PASSIONATE LIFE!" There were several variations of that slogan but my all-time favorite slogan, was "PEOPLE PARTICIPATING FOR PERFECT PLACEMENT". If that is not enough, imagine the promise of new cities and a chance to live with people who were statistically calculated, for you to get along with! The promise and the pitch were, after agreeing to give up privacy, there would be a short waiting and placement period, and after acceptance, you would be allowed into your new perfect ENVIRONMENT.

The word environment is cleverly used instead of city, town, or any natural word for a reason. After having to go through this process, I can assure you there is nothing natural about humans living in a place that a computer deemed "perfect placement"!

Everyone was curious to see if a government that had recently been discovered as corrupt could follow through on a promise. To be honest, many folks were on the never side when it was all brought up, BUT everything changed on March 5th, 2020.

It was on this date that the first confirmed case of a rapidly spreading virus hit the United States. By March 10th, 2020, the U.S declares a state of emergency and requires Americans to prepare for this dangerous virus.

The Pandemic, a virus, seemed to really expose the wrongs in our country and quickly! The rich got richer, and the poor became poverty-stricken. People who needed help had little to no access to aid. Inequality of all kinds ran rampant. It had been two years and the U.S's problems had doubled maybe even tripled!

With all our lives seemingly flipped upside down, and with our ideal of "normal" slipping away, when the "announcement" came, most were ALL FOR IT. The plan, the products, and the "process" could not come at a better time. PRIOR, to the pandemic most people were living off false promises and untrue expectations. Things had been so good and continued to get better for so long that, we all assumed the TREND would become permanent. But this virus had come to test us to make us prove our strength. After two years, we were down to quit, and by submitting to "The Process" and giving up your privacy, the government would provide you with an easy way out. AN EASY way: "The Process".

The process, phase one, was for anyone and EVERYONE who was not willing to sacrifice privacy for "perfect placement". Most people in phase one were already living off the grid and the others agreed to essentially do the same! Not agreeing to sacrifice privacy for "Perfect Placement" meant that you would live outside the systems, without a government. These people would literally be able to re-create or maintain any type of country they wanted. Phase one individuals wanted to be isolated from the rest of the country, they wanted independence, and the people who decided phase one got just that. The government promised to be laissez-faire on all things phase one.

Before you call me every name in the book for picking "Perfect Placement" instead of phase one, allow me to say my piece. I just did not have the necessary skills and abilities to survive phase one. The main issue I had is I did not know how to GROW MY OWN FOOD. Before all this I was busy chasing my dreams, so excuse me for not making time to learn organic gardening. The unfortunate truth was that "Perfect Placement" was much more my speed. So, I filled out my application for "Perfect Placement". When I submitted my application, it was the END of my privacy as I knew it.

Imagine it's your first interview for a new job, a job you want; you wake up early, and take extra care during your shower, while brushing your teeth, and while dressing. You spend extra time, extra effort, extra care to present the best version of yourself. While at the interview, the questions get invasive, but you indulge and decide to tell the TRUTH. Not the watered-down truth or almost the truth but that full-blown ugly, nasty truth, (If you are dishonest, imagine you are on truth serum and you don't have a choice.) to ALL the questions. Even the most invasive questions.

How many times have you viewed pornographic material, for how long, and what was the content?

How many times have you been drunk, this week, this month, this year?

How many times have you lied to your parents?

When was the last time you yelled and what did you say?

How many times have you cheated on a test?

How many fights have you been in?

Now, imagine after telling the truth to all those questions and many more they tell you; the job is yours. For the kicker, there is a detailed, organized list of your answers stored and now anyone who works with you can access your private information.

Also, you can't lie to a technology processor who can access an entire database of cameras, text messages, social media, etc. The "Perfect Placement" room was built to monitor and collect data on the guest. Talk about an introduction to this miracle technology, it was basically a robot room. If you think that's impressive wait until you hear about the fact that "Perfect Placement" is really a robot world. "Perfect Placement" is just a system of constant surveillance, logs of social media, access to all search activity, and face recognition to link you in an instant to everywhere your face has been. All that information in a database for an overly complex, highly intelligent AI program to analyze a person's whole collection of data, and then categorize this person in an accurate and efficient way!

That was my new world, an AI did all the work of creating placements for all the applicants. Beforehand, the technology seemed far-fetched to me, but it all became reality so quickly. There was an interesting statistic that because of phase one, all the applicants of “perfect placement” had a large amount of personal data. The statistic was that 81 percent of “perfect placement” applicants continued to use data and medias in the same way as prior to having their privacy stripped. Due to this commonality, the categorization process was ALARMINGLY FAST.

FREAKY is the first word that came to my mind upon arriving at my “perfect placement” home. Like I mentioned earlier we call it the infrastructure, some refer to it as the “system”. It is essentially a Bubble, Pod, Block, and access system.

The housing and living spaces were available, furnished, and almost luxurious and all of it, perfectly programmed and synced for the complex Bubble, Pod, and Block access system.

The story the government told was simple. The land was divided, and people were isolated and separated by a reasonable distance. The categorization of people was the handy work of an AI program, this program placed each applicant into a “perfect placement” environment. These environments consisted of considerably large areas called Bubbles, smaller areas called Blocks, and even smaller, pods. pods are comparable to an apartment complex or a neighbor. There is no need to discuss a bubble because no one can understand how large their bubble is after placement. After placement you can travel freely with in your pod. The way it works is, everyone is most alike their own Pod, that is why under normal circumstances, you always have access to your own pod.

Individuals are less similar pod to pod or block to block. Everyone in the bubble is supposed to be within a certain percentage of compatibility, BUT everyone is constantly monitored, so things can change. The magic of perfect placement is to allow people to be with people who are similar to them, and this can keep everyone safe. The algorithm was set to keep people away from anyone who COULD show them bias or anyone who they would be biased against. “Perfect placement” requires everyone to live essentially free. There is no privacy and because of the access system you cannot always travel where you would like, when you would like. Essentially free is the concept that any one is free to have bias, and prejudices but that person is NEVER free to go somewhere they could act upon the prejudice. The AI program ensures safety by keeping potentially volatile personalities away from one another.

Everyone in my pod thinks that this is ALL bullshit. I agree; this may prove the accuracy of the AI human categorization system. In my pod there are 3 males, and 3 females. Two of the guys in my pod are brothers, but the rest of us, we seemed quite different from one another.

My favorite person is Martha and she's amazing. Smart, tough, well read, and beautiful. She always wears this HEART SHAPED LOCKET which for some reason really reminds me of the way things used to be. In the bubble jewelry and fashion trends are much more futuristic. Martha's HEART SHAPED LOCKET was one of a kind in our bubble, just like Martha.

I always hung out at Martha's place. But recently something VERY STARNGE happened while I was over. The last time I was over her Algorithm seemingly shut down and we were offline for three hours. That small window of privacy changed my life FOREVER. As I laid with Martha, her naked body and her locket seemed amazing, because the moment was only ours. When we were alone, I mean truly alone in those hours, the feeling I had was freedom. It was NOT this essentially free freedom but this time I had the feeling and sensation of REAL freedom, and it was AMAZING. It felt so good, I should have known it was wrong, but I STILL thought it was a malfunction of some sort. I NEVER imagined that things would take the turn that they did.

After this amazing moment, ALL HELL BROKE LOSE.

Later me and Martha were confronted by a Bubble officer who wanted to ask questions. This questioning quickly turned into a HIGH-pressure interrogation and then BOOM! The roof of the room blows off and rope drops down. WAY UP there is a helicopter, Martha climbed up quickly and without hesitation. She only stopped to look back at me and gesture that I climb as well, AND FAST. I had no time to think, everything was a blur but before I knew it, I was in a helicopter, and the driver had the exact same necklace as Martha. ANOTHER HEART SHAPED LOCKET.

As this stranger with a familiar heart shaped locket, busted out of the top of the bubble I looked down at my perfect placement home. We zoomed off and the bubble disappeared behind me. In that moment I realized things were never going to be the same. I look at Martha and I feel pure joy. I smile at her, and she smiles back. I do not know what the future holds, but in that moment, Martha made me feel like our happily ever after had just begun!
