A Hero's Journey
The hero’s journey is a structure where a story is told in a perspective of a single hero. There have been a few interpretations of the hero's journey but I’ll be focusing on Joseph Campbell’s simple 12 stages of the hero’s journey. I'll be using the original Star Wars as an example. The hero that will be used is named Luke Skywalker.

Who Is Admiral Holdo?
When I first saw the movie The Last Jedi, my curiosity was immediately piqued by vice-admiral Amilyn Holdo. For those who don't know, she was the purple haired lady that takes command after Leia is indisposed and sacrifices herself in order to save the rest of the Resistance. We clearly had never seen this new character in the sequels or prequels and while she does add to the roster of strong female leads we are seeing more often in Star Wars, I couldn't help but wonder where she came from and who she was. And so comes this article. We will now look at the background of Amilyn Holdo and what she represents.

Disappointed! (When a Franchise Becomes Too Popular)
I can’t help but feel excited any time a new Star Wars film arrives. Even if it turns out to be mediocre to say the least, any time the opening crawl appears with that iconic music from John Williams, it’s exciting. Perhaps it’s a symptom of the division in our society, but the most recent film garnered a shocking and frankly rather extreme reaction. I’m sure you read the reactions and reviews by now, and you either love it intensely, or you had such a visceral reaction the very thought of it almost gives you a coronary. However, this article isn’t about how good or how bad the last Star Wars film was.

I have been to three screenings of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the eighth entry into the Star Wars episodic saga and when I went into it the first time, I was feeling the hype that was left at the end of The Force Awakens back in December 2015 and after I left the cinema on the third screening, I had only one thought. A (Controversial) Explanation for the New 'Star Wars' Trilogy
I'm a huge fan of Star Wars; always have been. I love the escapist nature of the films, the hope, the action, and yes, even the love in the stories, and that will never change. I was not a big fan of the prequels. They have their place, and always will, but they too are important to Star Wars lore and history. I have not read very many of the Star Warsnovelizations, whether they are of the film adaptations or otherwise. That said, I have enjoyed what those have brought to the Star Wars universe as well, as I think the history surrounding the franchise only becomes richer for them.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hit theaters this past December and, of course, became another huge blockbuster for the franchise. Some may call it divisive to due a metric that is unstable, but for most people, it was one of the greats in 2017. Rian Johnson did an amazing job by killing the old so the new may thrive. Some didn't like it, but it was important for Star Wars as a franchise to grow and give the new characters the spotlight in the never-ending war in a galaxy far, far away.
