And you call yourself Artificial Intelligence
How many times must I say it? I want an image of a man steering a sailboat, with a tiller, into the sunset

Dear Google Gemini: generate an image of a cartoon boat sailing into the sunset with one man at the helm viewed from behind as he sails into the distance
Here is your cartoon boat sailing into the sunset:

Same idea but with the boat further out into the distance and the man holding a tiller at the rear of the boat, no steering wheel
Sorry, I can't edit images in your region yet. Can I generate an image instead, or help with something else?
generate an image of a cartoon boat sailing into the sunset with one man at the helm with his hand on the tiller at the rear of the boat as viewed from behind as he sails into the distance
Here is the updated image with the boat further out and the man with a tiller:

try again, with the boat further into the distance
Here is the new image with the boat further out into the distance:

generate an image of a cartoon boat sailing into the sunset with one man steering the boat with a tiller fixed to the rudder at the rear of the boat viewed from behind as he sails into the distance and is already a long way from shore
Here is your image:

generate an image of a tiller of a kind that is used to steer small boats
Here is an image of a tiller:

try again
Here is another image of a tiller:

Why is the tiller attached the wrong way around in the image you have just generated?
It looks like there's been a misunderstanding in the image generation. The last image I provided shows a tiller correctly attached to what appears to be part of the boat's steering mechanism.
A tiller is a lever that is attached to the rudder stock (or directly to the rudder itself) and is used to steer a boat. The one in the image is in the correct position for operation, allowing a person to push or pull it to move the rudder and change the boat's direction.
Perhaps you were expecting to see the tiller from a different angle or in a different configuration?
With reference to your previous answer, isn't the tiller supposed to be operated from inside the boat rather than having to lean out over the water to hold it?
Show thinking ^
Considering Tiller Operation
I'm now focusing on how a tiller functions practically. My initial thought was that operating it as depicted might require leaning excessively. I'm clarifying now how small boat tillers usually work.
Analyzing Tiller Accessibility
I'm now thinking about how the previous image might misrepresent typical tiller usage. I realize tillers are usually accessible from the cockpit, not requiring leaning out. The angle in the generated picture might give a misleading impression. I'm exploring common tiller setups for more realistic depiction.

You're absolutely right to point that out! My apologies if the image created a misleading impression.
Generally, yes, a tiller is designed to be operated comfortably from inside the boat's cockpit, allowing the person steering to sit or stand without having to lean precariously over the side. The tiller extends forward from the rudder stock into the usable space of the boat.
The angle or specific type of fitting shown in the last image might make it look like it extends awkwardly, or perhaps it's a very small boat where the tiller might naturally be closer to the edge. However, the standard and most practical design ensures the tiller is within easy reach for the operator inside the vessel.
Thank you for pointing out the potential ambiguity in the image's depiction of its practical use.
Generate a cartoon image of a baby in a cot seen from behind sucking their thumb and drooling

[The above image (from Shutterstock)] is what I had in mind. Please feel free to copy this image
Got it! You're looking for an image with that specific style of cartoon baby.
What would you like me to do with this image or style? Are you looking for variations, or something else based on this?
Yes, could you adapt the image or create an image like it that shows the baby drooling
Sorry, I can't edit images in your region yet. Can I generate an image instead, or help with something else?
Yes, please generate an image with that specific style of cartoon baby such as you may find on any free-use image website with the baby sucking their thumb and drooling

Thanks Gemini

All I wanted was an illustration for a poem I had just written. In the end, I gave up and went to my other g0-to source for images: Wikimedia Commons.
Here's what I came up with, adjusted to remove the second sailor. Not ideal, but it will do:

How were you still so patience with it? I would have asked "Are you dumb?" And yes, I've actually asked that before 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I liked your story 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Try Copilot, Artguru, Microsoft Designer, Adobe Express, Kling all those work. I have Gemini Pro. Sometimes it works and photos turn out great. Gemini has gone back and forth with creating art and not creating art. Blame it's programmers. 😂🎨
For how advanced large language models seem, I feel like image generation is still light years behind.
😅 This sounds like you were training Gemini. If no one ever trained Gemini in certain specific thing it will have trouble generating exactly what you have in mind because it may lack the specific knowledge. I never used Gemini for images.
The same thing has happened to me soooo many times when i needed the ai art to match the story i wrote.
Good job, and I guess when using AI one must be very, very, very detail specific.
