How to Write a Scary Story (part 1). Content Warning.
How to write a scary story, is all I wondered ever since I watched that scary movie, or read that scary book. Well, it has been quite a time, around 10 years, not bad considering my age is 12. I tried my hands quite a few times trying to build a perfect scary story, but you cant imagine and write at the age of 2. So all I did was watched and enjoyed. Usually kids my age are scared but it was quite the opposite.

Fireflower Flood
The only light was the glow of a blue hued moon. Mimi stood on her balcony, watching as the lower levels of the street and buildings flooded with icy water. She didn’t know what happened exactly, but she woke up and the valley she lived in for most of her life was turning back into a prehistoric lake. So many people drowned, and so many left for higher grounds or simply left the town altogether. No one knows what started the sudden flood, but when it did, the canyon collapsed, clogging the way out through the east. To the west, the small mountains dissolved, turning into trash and rubble walls.

The Curse_via Showtime
My husband and I tried to watch The Curse streaming on Paramount+ (or Showtime if you have a subscription). The Curse stars one of my favorite actresses, Emma Stone, as Whitney. I thought, “Oh yes, yes! Emma is in this!” Nathan Felder plays her husband, Asher. The couple is trying to get a new type of HGTV show up and running, Flipanthropy. They are cutesy, over-the-top, relatable, and perky as a married home-makeover couple. The Curse begins as a sarcastic take on many HGTV stars and shows. Asher and Whitney really want to make life better for everyone with their style of homes.

It is With Much Regret That I Must Inform You I Cannot Accept the Position of Your Boyfriend
Author's note: This piece was originally published on another website, from which I have since been permanently banned, as a satirical response to a (semi) humorous piece by the writer Lizzie Logan on that same site. The link to the original post is here and I highly encourage you to read that first as it helps to frame my response in the appropriate light. I happened to stumble across it in my archives, and despite being five years old now I think it still holds up fairly well though, ultimately, I guess that is for you, the reader, to decide. In any event. Enjoy!
