The Softer Side of Texas Excerpt
Ivanka lifted her head and glanced at the clock. “It’s about time to feed the horses, don’t ya think? I think I’m going to walk down to the barn and get to work on that,” she said, walking around the table to exit the kitchen. Aaron pushed his chair back and nodded at her.

The Office Part 3
During my time working at the office I learned one thing, you never knew what was going to come through the front door next. I do think a large part of what went on was due to the fact that it was an all male salesforce. Put fifteen men in a room for the day and lock the front door and for sure fun and games would happen in spades.

Prayer of a Luscious Rose
Kaira was not new to the subject of lovers. Not in the very least bit. After years of watching the various girls who came, and rose to lengths of semi-fame clued her into this at a very young age. Men of the highest caliber occupied this place. Dressed in fine linens, and suits they often possessed the finest pocket watches, and walking sticks one could find. Strangely enough those sticks were rarely for aid in their step but rather finely crafted weapons. With the simplest twisting, or pushing of a button a blade could be extracted, and thrust into the very gut of whomever the gent preferred. Contrary to what many believed, however, Magdelyn ran an establishment of refinement, and tended to enjoy making the atmosphere light, and inducive to spending. Spending time or money, but mostly both were preferred. With a sense of pride the woman turned upon heels, and cast mere glances at various wealthy bachelors who seemed to flock to her more for advice than the warmth of her arms. This was because Magdelyn was the most glorious of gem. Dakotick himself had been enraptured by that very coquettish giggling she was renown for. In all of Kaira’s years she had looked up to her elder sister. Revering the woman with a sense of envy, but also complete adoration. An odd relationship some might have said, and had Aurora still been alive today she would have likely frowned upon both, if not all three of her daughters.

New York part II
I laid in bed thinking about the evening; how he made me feel. I ran over in my mind the things we said, the lines in his face, his beautiful smile, his contagious laugh. Then I caught myself smiling and giggling as each scene flashed in my mind. And it hit me; I was falling for this guy.

Gone the Tides of Earth
Atop of the mattress, the nurse peered back at me over the shoulder while I stood in the threshold. An ethereal vision exuding sensuality having already brought me down to those primal instincts where, from tantalization the rest turns necessity.

Big Sexy Satan
Night one. This man has ample pizzazz I was skulking. My middle finger fingered the magic mouse down and slick past my sister’s kids, past the third attempt by my college buddies to reach me for their ungodly too-many-years reunion. And then there he was. There was no punctuation and the diagram spoke for itself. He had a “functioning Inner Moxie coil” and “Hustle emitters.” It was clear he “deflects funk” and has “distal panache shafts.” It was clear this man had it all. It was clear that, I did not. But could I buy him? I don’t buy things on impulse. I don’t fall for the click-bait. Then I closed my laptop, dejectedly.

The Unforgettable Vacation
All day long, my eyes kept looking at my “Homer Simpson” interactive digital clock. On Fridays, it would yell “woo hoo” when the workday was over. “Ten more minutes,” I said to myself while trying to think of ways to kill time. “I’ll just go to the restroom,” I thought to myself. On my way there, I ran into Lolita. Lolita used to be on our billing team, but transitioned into a higher paying position a couple of months ago. “Are you excited about your weekend getaway B?” she asked as a huge smile wiped across her face. “Very excited,” I replied half lying. This was the first time I would be going to another state alone. It’s true I was thrilled to be traveling to New Orleans, but I usually always traveled with my brother everywhere. Ever since he met his new boyfriend, Nico, he didn’t have time for his little sister anymore.

Love Bites
Vampires, the dark blood-sucking creatures of the night, have existed since their supposed first sighting in Eastern European graveyards during the time in the 17th-century when the dead struggled to stay below ground. Whether it is due to shallow graves, poor soil conditions, or faulty coffins, the undead has left their marks of fear and intrigue that have lasted until the modern-day. Vampires have come a long way from being feared creatures of the night or supposed tales of monsters stalking the forests beyond medieval villages; they have grown from being stories told to scare children into obeying their parents. In modern literature, vampires are now either the unsung heroes and/or the love interests of the protagonists in varied Gothic/Supernatural adult and young adult novels. Vampires are now beautiful monsters that reflect male and female sexuality. They unlock hidden reaches within humans, opening them up to the world of the supernatural and the pure, undiluted desire of exploring it and all its selfish possibilities.

Offerings
I was nude when I lit the green offering candle, placed a drop of blood upon it, and said my thanks to Astaroth. The flames flickered for a moment, and the sheer beauty of it entranced me. I felt tears prickle at the corners of my eyes, and my face begins to redden slightly—a sign that they were here with me in the room. As my last offering for the evening, I prostrated before my altar in front of their space. I offered my body to the Demon as a show of my trust and deepest appreciation.
