Secret Life of a Domestic Housewife
Sadies Puppy Play
I wasn't initially interested in Puppy Play until I met "Sadie" and their personality that drew me into it. They were always so playful and I had some previous experience with predatory/play dynamics so when they came to me asking if I would try it, it seemed like a fun and logical connection.
The first time I gave them their collar they dropped to the floor and excitedly perched waiting for me to place it on them. Their chin lifted high, a wide smile on their face- you could feel them vibrating with happiness. The first collar was black with rhinestones on it and a metal tag with "Sadie" engraved on it in the shape of a black heart. Cliche? Possibly.
I patted their head, whispered 'good girl' to them, and then carefully secured the collar around her neck. The collar represented the transition from their every day to that of Sadie, an untrained puppy. The second I was finished putting that collar on she decided her next action was to hump my leg, she wrapped her thighs tightly around my ankle and calf and pressed her body deeply against my leg while panting.
Her sudden change from the obedient person I had known to this unruly pup had thrown me off for a moment and I couldn’t help myself but giggle at her.
“Sadie,” I commanded, “stop.”
She didn’t though, in fact, her grinding continued hard enough to cause me to lose balance. My frustration started to bubble. I quickly pushed her shoulder downward and tried to take a step backward, “No, Sadie. A good girl always waits.”
She looked up at me, her hazel eyes bright and glittering, “Good girl, now sit.”
Sadie quickly removed herself from my leg and sat back on her feet again this time with her hands on the floor.
“Now, from what I understand your knees are going to take a beating on this floor so let’s put these on.” I pulled knee pads and hand pads from a basket I had off to the side and while Sadie was struggling to pull up the kneepads I brought out two bowls for her. She saw the bowls and started to whine and shake her bottom, all I could think about while watching her was I should have bought the tail after all.
For Sadie, becoming a puppy was second nature, and as many of you are probably wondering it wasn’t inherently sexual in nature. It was a legitimate way for her to express another part of herself. When she came over she would go straight to her special puppy box and quietly wait for me to collar her and then the play toys would come out; squeaky balls, stuffies to throw around, and whatever else we could find outside of the room that would safely fit into her mouth.
Training Sadie was fun and an ongoing experiment really. I would read books from animal behaviorists and blogs from puppy play trainers, seeing how the two aligned and overlapped. I even made treats in the shape of dog bones for positive reinforcement and while Sadies other persona enjoyed spankings, edging, denial, etc their puppy self didn’t enjoy that type of attention On the rare occasion that Sadie felt sexually excited she would show me by shoving her face into my crotch like a bio dog would do when meeting a person.
Frequently after playing around the house I would sit on the couch and Sadie would sit on a pile of pillows below me, from her I could pet her head, play with her hair, or scratch and rub her shoulders.
As we dove deeper into our training we attempted more formal actions and using other language cues to help Sadie fall deeper into her puppy space but in the end, a more laid-back approach was what she enjoyed more than anything.
I’ve got to say, having a play puppy was an unexpected delight. At some point, I’d love to meet and play with a kitten, on their terms of course.
